Sakuya x Mahiru - Friendship

Mahirus' P.o.v

"Mahiru!" sakuya shouted snapping me out of my trance. I jumped and looked over at him giving him my cheesiest grin. "Am I coming to your place or not?" sakuya asked as we neared the familiar fork in the road. "Oh! uh... yeah sure!" I said smiling awkwardly before continuing on my way home with sakuya close behind me. Once I was through the door not even enough time to say "I'm home!" a loud whining could be heard from the living room. I chuckled nervously before dashing into the living room and picking kuro up. "What?! What do you want?" I whispered shaking kuro rapidly. You see sakuya didn't exactly know kuro was well... a vampire he just thought kuro was a regular cat. And normal cats don't talk. "Hungry...must eat..or death..." kuro said over dramatically sprawling out in my hands. I sighed and put him on the couch retrieved some food and finally let sakuya past the entrance of my house. "Hehe...sorry about that"  I said leading him to my room. "Would you like some tea?" I asked smiling to which sakuya nodded and I hurried off to get some. When I came back sakuya was petting kuro who seemed to not appreciate the contact. He was very picky about his humans. I set the tea down and picked up kuro from sakuya's  lap and setting him on my bed. Sakuya grumbled something about it being cold then I saw him shiver a couple times. Well it was mid December I honestly wasn't cold probably because I was used to living without a heater. "Sorry are you cold?" I asked walking over to my bed and ripping the blanket off much to kuro's discomfort. "Here" I said wrapping the blanket around sakuya but of course with my luck I had to trip on nothing but my own foot and fall right into sakuya's lap. I'm 99.9% sure I was bright red at the sudden contact I was now experiencing. "I-I'm so sorry I didn't mean too.." I stammered to get m words in line. However instead of complaining sakuya wrapped his arms around me so we were now a blanket cocoon. "S-sakuya?" I mumbled. He hummed a quiet response and closed his eyes peacefully. "I have to tell you something." I said as calmly as I could despite the fact I was screaming so loud on the inside I could barely hear myself. "What is it?" sakuya said reopening his eyes. "I-I love you." I said burying my red face into sakuya's arm. He laughed. I knew it. I thought. I knew he didn't love me back. I felt tears well up in my eyes and I was just about ready to jump out of his embrace when he said "You're an idiot. What male friend would willingly wrap his arms around another male if he didn't love him?" sakuya said wiping the tears from my eyes. I smiled a genuine smile and leaned up and kissed sakuya. It felt as if the whole world was just me and sakuya. Me and sakuya forever.

After sakuya left...

"You humans are so weird." kuro said crawling around on the kitchen floor. "Kissing other humans and such" kuro added and Mahiru knew that kuro was smirking even if he was still in cat form.
