I kept my eyes focused on the road as I noticed the sign for Atkins Diamond Country Club and Resort. I jumped to turn my right blinker on and made the sharp turn. I roamed through the parking lot before I found spot 28B which I was assigned to.
After I pulled in and parked I got out and grabbed my bag from the backseat. Finally I took a deep breath and walked through the parking lot up to the sidewalk. When I got to the main lobby I walked to the side hall and into the kitchen area where I entered and clocked in at 10:38 exactly 8 minutes passed when I was supposed to.
I grabbed the apron hung in the wall and strapped it around my waste. I made my way through the lobby and to the small restaurant just inside the pool building. As I got behind the bar I looked out the window to see only a mom and her two small children at the pool, but I knew the rush would be coming in soon.
I sat around for about half an hour before I saw one of the managers Josh walk in.
"Madison!" He shouted.
"It's Addison." I said annoyingly.
"I can't believe you still think I don't know your name." He said chuckling along with my giggle.
"Not much business eh?" He said looking around.
"The 11:30 rush will be in soon. Don't worry you'll still get a paycheck." I said smirking.
"Alright well Hannah will be in at noon, so have fun." He said walking away. I nodded and said hm mm.
I took a deep breath and leaned on the wall anxiously waiting for any sort or action to happen. Before I knew it I was looking out the window and saw more and more people piling in.
Soon after a women walked in and ordered three baskets of food and a pitcher of beer. Just as I was fixing it up Hannah walked in and started helping out. I piled all the food in my hands and walked out of the bar slowly to walk outside to the pool. I looked around before spotting the women and her children and walked over to them. I sat the food down on the table near them smiled and walked away.
As I was walking back to the main court i passed a group of about 6 guys who were spread out between chairs and piles of
golf clothes next to their golf equipment. I continued to walk past them before one of them grabbed my arm. I pulled away and turned around looking at him."Could I get a pitcher of beer and some glasses sweetheart?"
"Hmm mm what's the name under the account?" I said rolling my eyes.
"Russel." I nodded my head and turned around proceeding to get the beer. As I walked away I met eyes with a tall buff man with long brown curly hair and green eyes walking toward the group of men.
I brought the beer back out holding it my arms along with a bunch of glasses. As I gave them to the man who ordered them one of the glasses slipped and fell to the ground and shattered.
"Shit. Shit I am so sorry." I he said putting his hands on his head.
"It's- It's alright don't worry about it." I said bending down and starting to pick up the glass. The man who I passed earlier got up and bent down to help me. I didn't notice until i looked up and saw him staring at me.
"I- Uh I- I'm gonna go get a broom, you don't have to go through all the trouble." I said walking away to go back inside to get a broom.
When I came back out and swept up the glass I noticed the same man staring at me again. I looked up and made eye contact with him for about 3 seconds before standing up and walking back inside.
When I got back inside I saw Hannah handling two bags of ice.
"Can you take this out to..." She said looking over at the order on the computer.
"Styles. Please?" She finished.
"Styles?" I said.
"Hmm mm someone in that group of guys out there? They ordered it."
"Alright. Give it here." I said taking a deep breath and proceeding outside with the bags of ice.
"This is for... Styles?" I said as I got back outside. The same man with long brown curly hair looked up and me and raised his hand.
"Me, thank you." He said taking the ice and smirking at me. I smiled and wiped my hands on my pants before turning back around to go inside.
"Hmm I see you!" Hannah said to me when i got back inside.
"What?" I said confused.
"That guy! He was totally staring at you... I was watching from the window." I turned around as she said this and looked at him through the window.
"N-No no. No he wasn't."
"Okayyy what ever you sayyyyy." She said walking out of the bar with a basket of fries.
I grabbed a wet rag and started to wipe down the bar while looking out the window occasionally. I hung around for a little while before I heard the bell attached to the door jingle. I looked up to see the curly headed man walking up to me. I looked down and started to organize glasses while he came up and leaned against the bar with his elbow.
"Could I get some ice dear?" He said smirking at me.
"And what happened to the ice I just brought you?"
"Turns out it wasn't enough." He said as I turned around gathering the ice.
"What's it under?" I said tapping at the register.
"Styles."
"Harry?" I said confirming I was on the right account. He nodded and I handed him the ice, but he didn't leave.
"Addison." He said as I noticed he read my name tag.
"Addie." I said back.
"Addie." He repeated.
"And how did someone as pretty as you... end up here, waitressing to snotty rich people?" He said standing up straight.
"And how did someone like you begin to wonder about a stranger?" I said sarcastically smiling while organizing condiments. He stayed silent for several seconds before answering.
"I have a job that could concern you." He said seriously.
"And how's that?" I said laughing.
"My dads the owner. I can get in a good word for you. Get you something better you know. Better pay more interesting..." He said trailing off.
"Well.. I'm just fine here thank you." I said not thinking.
"Alright. But don't be surprised if your schedules different tomorrow!" He said turning around and walking out.
I laughed to myself before finally noticing how fast my heart was beating and processing everything that just happened. Harry Styles wouldn't leave my mind, wondering who he is and why he seemed so interested in my life.
