Peter's POV-
"I think you are forgetting the task at hand Pan."
"The task has not been forgotten Felix." I say and stare down at the magic scroll that was given to me to show me the only way to save me, which is keeping this island alive.
"Oh but I think it is. This girl is growing on you and you're letting it." Felix says deeply. I don't reply because deep down I know it's true.
"This can't happen Pan, you and I both know that." Felix continues. I look down at my desk.
"Then let's approach this task a new way." I suggest and stand straight.
"And what do you have in mind Pan?" Felix raises a smile. I turn and smirk at him. This will be the way for me to stay alive.
Violet's POV-
Every since I woke up I've felt...connected to Neverland, like a deep connection. I can feel all the emotions from the lost boys. Never have I felt this before, about any place. It feels...good.
The feeling of someone watching me was heavy. I look up from the ground to meet eyes with Peter. He flashes a small smile towards my way. Not a smirk but an actual smile. I smiled back and looked back down at the ground. The unfamiliar feeling of heat rise to my face becomes known. Wait?! I'm I blushing?! Oh no! No! No! Nope!
"Boys! Gather around!" Peter commands as he gets up from his spot. All the boys drop whatever they were doing and walk over, circling around Peter. Once all their attention is on them, he begins talking.
"I think it's time we play a little game I like to call, target practice." He smirks as he makes a cross bow appear in his hand. The boys cheer and clap their hands.
"I think our target should be our one and only lost girl." The cheering gone quiet and they all turn towards me. Does he mean me?
"Who will be the shooter?" Felix asks curiously. This was so planned out.
"Why all of you." Pan says with a devilish smirk. He isn't Peter anymore, he is Pan. Peter was the guy who smiled at me. This is Pan, the guy who puts my safety at risk for his own amusement. The boys start cheering and pumping their fists in the air of excitement. My palms grow sweaty from nervousness. I stand up straight and hold my head high. I have to show I'm strong and not afraid.
Felix tied me up to a tree which was in the training area. My waist is tied to the trunk with my arms to my side. My eyes look straight forward at the line of lost boys waiting to get their hands on the crossbow. The line is long but at the end waits Felix. You know what they say, save the best for last.Well...They're wrong on this one.
"Alright, let's begin. One shot each and don't be afraid to have a little fun with it." Pan says as he moves off to the side with his arms crossed. I narrow my eyes at him then look forward at the arrow that may or may not kill me.
A mixture of sad and revengeful emotions rush to me, hitting me hard. The sun comes out behind the seemingly endless row of clouds.
The first boy steps up, he is one of the younger ones. I can feel that he is scared. He raises the crossbow. I smile at him to let him know it's okay. The trigger is pulled and I feel the arrow fly past me. Surprisingly, I don't flinch. I look to my left and see the arrow far from my face. He missed on purpose.
"Next." Pan said.
The line got shorter and shorter over time. For some strange reason, none of them came close to hitting me. They all had the same look on their faces, sadness laced in a apologetic look. Pan's words kept ringing in my head. Next... Next... Just over and over in my head. They seem to still linger there.
Last but not least, Felix comes up with a smirk on his face. Honestly, only Pan can pull it off. Wait...I didn't just say that...
He lines up the shot and pulls the trigger. In one swift motion, my eyes are closed, my arm is extended out and nothing comes. The area grows silence. All I can hear is heavy and shocked breathing. I open my eyes slowly and only see the tip of the arrow almost meeting the skin between my eyes. The only thing holding it is my hand clamped around the base of it.
'Did I just stop it?' I think shocked. My hand let's go of the arrow and it falls onto the ground. I look up to see all the lost boys shocked looks. Even Pan has a surprised look on his face.
"Back to where you were." Pan says. All the boys take one last look and then scurry off. Pan just stands there motionless. I finish untying myself.
"How'd you do that?" I stand straight but don't turn to him.
"I don't know. It happened all so fast." I admitted as I threw the rope to the ground. He didn't say anything but I could feel his presence growing closer to me. Then I could feel his hot breath against the back of my neck. His breath sent shivers down my spine.
"You're just full of secrets and mysteries aren't you?" He whispers in my ear.
"You have no idea."
