"She's fine, Dick. She wouldn't tell us why she ran off, and she's sick, but she's safe."

"That doesn't make sense," He mumbled.

"Kids get sick sometimes. Clark is at home with her, she just needs a couple days in bed."

"No, she can't get sick. Thalia said that her body heals itself faster. She's not supposed to get sick. Something isn't right," He started

"She's a kid. Believe it or not, I know some stuff about kids. She wants to stay with us for awhile, but I'm sure she'll forgive you eventually."

"How did you know it was my fault?"

"You've got the look. She'll be okay," she told him. She began to walk towards the door.

"Wait," He picked up the jacket Black Swan had left. "She'll want this."

"She'll be fine Dick," Lois assured him. "All she needs is some chicken soup."

"All you need is some chicken soup," Clark handed me a ceramic bowl full of chicken soup.

"I don't know how I got sick," I snuggled into the blankets. "I kinda can't."

"What do you mean?"

"Bullets bounce off you, my body heals itself before I can show symptoms of getting sick," I ate a spoonful of the soup he brought me. "This is amazing."

"Family recipe," He said. "Have you ever gotten sick before?"

"Once," I admitted. "When I escaped the league I did this thing, it shut down the pit inside of me."

"So I'm guessing you redid this thing?"

I looked down. "Kind of."

"Do you want to get some sleep?"

"Kind of."

"I'll let you sleep then," he took the bowl back from me.

I curled into a tight ball, covering my stomache. Suddenly I was dreaming.

"Doll, do you get the project?"

"Of course I do, Shawn."

"Well, can you help me?" He brought his laptop with him to sit across from me.

"Why would I do that? It'll be more fun for me to watch you struggle."

"Please," I could feel the puppy dog eyes on the top of my skull.

"I'm not an animal Shawn," I picked my head up and looked into his eyes with a smirk. "Your mind tricks don't work on me. Mine, however, work on you."

He kept eye contact. "You wouldn't. You love me to much."

"Only as much as Freezie loves Batsy," my eyes flashed to quickly to recognize. Our faces were inches away from each other.

"That's just rude," He whispered. "Someone ought to teach you some manners."

"Oh really?" I smirked at him again. "What are you going to do about it?"

He began to lean in, our bodies gravitating towards each other. My eyes began to flutter close, seconds before J began to open the door. By the time it was fully open, I was across the room with my nose in a textbook.

"You two doing okay? It's a little to quite up here."

"Yeah, we're fine," I looked at him innocently.

"Okay, just checking up," He closed the door.

"That was close," I laughed as I closed the text book. "Where were we?"
