I took a deep breath in before grabbing my trapeze, and swung gracefully towards the center of the ring. I released the trapeze and grabbed my mom's wrists. My body swung, flipping me back to my own trapeze. We did a couple simple tricks before I started to dismount. I swing my legs up around the bar before flipping off. My body straightened out and I began to let my body fall in an X. I landed on the ground and instantly carried into a somersault. I waited for the sound of the two bodies whistling down to greet the ground. When I didn't, I looked up to see my adoptive parents falling. Time seemed to slow almost to a stop. The bars of the trapeze landed with a crash on the ground beside me.
My parents bodies crashed to the ground. I ran to their lifeless bodies and began to cry. I pressed my hands into them. My powers had worked on a lot of problems, why not this? But it wouldn't work. My hands would glow a faint light before fading away. I started sobbing harder. I started mumbling, hoping my power wouldn't fail me, praying that it wouldn't. A loud gun shot broke me out off my trance. A second, a third. A man in a black suit had three bullets turning into seeds of blood in his chest. I looked around for the source and found a woman with white hair smiling at her good aim. She gracefully brought herself down.
"You okay darlin'?" Her accented was half southern, half new Jersey. "Come on, let's get some food in you."

"Hurry up guys!" I implored as I pushed myself faster."Not all of us can run like you swan," Lacey laughed as the rest struggled to keep up.
"Trust me, this is totally worth it."
"The ten minutes away from prying eyes has already made it worth it," Nightshade laughed.
"Why don't we do this more often?"
"Come on," I laughed. "We all know that the only thing harder than sneaking out, is... wait, no, nothing is harder than sneaking out."
"You're preaching to the choir here," Shawn laughed.
I flattened myself onto the ground, dozens of stars shining brilliantly. "What I wouldn't give to be a star for a while."

"Red-" Lacey stopped in her tracks when she noticed Harley and J. "Hair. Remember when we were talking about what color you should dye your hair? I think it would look best red.""Really? I thought she would look good as a blonde," Harley smiled.
"I don't know, I've started liking my black hair," I laughed before standing and walking over to her. "We have a study date, right?"
"That we do," she smiled. We flipped into my room and I pulled out a map. "So, we're on sneak night tonight?"
"Yep, and I thought we could go for a movie."
"Or to somewhere fun," she laughed.
"I know the perfect place," I laughed. "Here's what we're going to do..."
I snuck out of the house and met them in a field.
"I hope this is better than Green and Purple's night at the museum," Shawn laughed.
"You couldn't give us a challenge?" Lacey said cockily.
"Don't get to cocky, White," Lucas cut in. "Blue and I pick next month."
"Good luck topping us," I laughed pulling all of them a couple hundred feet to were we were going to spend the night. "Who's ready for a night at an amusement park?"

"Come on puddin'!" Harley tried again downstairs. "Just one little outing?""No," J didn't budge.
"One outting wouldn't hurt," she continued. From the rafters I saw J stand and push her into a chokehold against the wall. Adrenaline kicked in, I came down from the rafters and sent him against the intersecting wall with a swift kick. J began walking towards me but stopped at the click of a gun loading.
"You two ganging up on me now?"
"Don't you lay a finger on her," Harley responded, her arm pulling me towards her.
"You saw what she did-"
"And I'll do it again if you threaten Harley like that," I growled.
"Protective," his eyes sparked with the idea. "I'll respect that."

"Get packing, darlin'," Harley yelled up to me. "We're going to see my aunt in Texas!"Five minutes of packing and a motorcycle ride later, we were at a ranch in Texas. We were ushered to bed before we could even think. Harley woke me up early and brought me out to the barn. A black stallion walked up to me. I swung up and Harley mimicked me on a white mare. "Fitting, huh?"

"Get up, Al Baiea," someone commanded. I obeyed, hurrying out. My small body kneeled into the stone room. Their knives began, painting across my body. Two leaguers scrapped kinves across my collar bone. I tried not to call out in pain, instead imagining myself somewhere else, anywhere else. Lo and behold, I wasn't there anymore. I was on a ship. I saw earth in the distance. My arms were secured with leather. A pale man walked towards me with a scapel in hand. I tried to get away to no avail.
"Sh, Sh," he soothed. "It's alright. I'm going to help you."
He dug the scalpel into my chest. I screamed as he shoved a chunk of black rock into me.
