Delphine McFern.

The only child of the richest family in England.

She was known not only for her beauty, but as well as her fierce and unladylike personality.

Many of the men did not approve this sort of behavior, and Delphine had lost some of her candidates for marriage all due to the young independent woman willing to speak her mind.

However, Cedric Smith, a young man willing to take any challenge, decided to meet Miss McFern.

What he did not know, was that it was too hard to convince her about anyone at all...

There they both were sitting on the dinner table, quite close together, and annoyingly, their parents were already negotiating the marriage, and...

well...

imagine; a young girl with a flame coloured hair and ocean blue eyes and...

 well...

She's gracefully holding a fork and gracefully playing with her food, (cause you can do that gracefully) Delphine's face looks serious, she looks like she's concentrating to death...

yeah...

And, Cedric is just staring like a creep intensely at the young maiden.

After a while, she finally looks up and caught him red handed.

She smirked. Then suddenly, her facial expression, looked just too innocent.

The young male mortal was slowly captivated, as the young adult bit her lip and pulled a lock of her hair back flirtatiously, and moved closer and closer...

Until...

Cedric felt his heart skip a beat however...

Instead of feeling a warm sensation of the girl's lips, he felt...

A sharp and bitter impact on his cheek.

"Who do you think you are?" She exclaimed looking peeved.

The chatter in the room dimmed down as everyone stared at them with a shocked expression,

Unsure about the situation happening between the too;

Silence.

Delphine placed her hand underneath her chin, staring at the ceiling looking bored.

"You know..." Her sweet voice quickly captivated his attention.

"If you're rich... you should really get a better soap cause you smell like a dead horse."

Delphine stated bluntly with a bored look.

Cedric blinked and looked annoyed.

"Seriously; you're as dirty as your mind." She muttered, pinching her nasal bone.

Andrew McFern, who was around the age of forty, slammed his glass down on the table and glared at his daughter's actions and words.

Before she knew it, her father stood up and boomed "Delphine Aster McFern!  I do not except such appalling behavior in my house."

Mr. McFern sighed deeply and took a deep breath in. "I suggest you apologize to our guests."

Delphine looked her father with confusion and aggravation.

She closed her eyes and put her hands under her chin leaning on them.

"But father... You always tell me to be honest and protect myself from anyone he tries to lay a hand on me... Don't you say so?~"

The father of the young adult's grip tightened around the glass he had slammed a minute ago and tried his best not to lose his patience towards his daughter.

"Yes that is true however, I meant that you should be honest if you have done anything wrong and... doesn't matter. Just apologize to this young man this instance."

He said through gritted teeth.

Delphine cursed underneath her breath and stood up from her seat, took a deep breath and bobbed a quick but stiff curtsy.

She clenched her teeth and said with a girly voice. "I am so sorry. I r-really didn't mean to be so rude. I don't know what overcame me. Please, may you forgive me?"

Cedric, who fell in love with her appearance, of course forgiven her instantly, completely forgetting about how she snapped at him not so long ago...

After, about fifteen minutes, the Smith's had to make their leave and stood up.

Cedric bowed like a gentleman in front of Delphine. He smiled sweetly.

Delphine just gave him a quick smile however, when he turned his back she swore, then muttered about how she's planning to get this man and kill him.

When the young man finally left, Delphine ran upstairs and slammed the door shut and instantly threw herself on her bed.

"Good to see you bed." She whispered into the covers then turned on her side to stare at her wall.

"I truly wish I could be just a normal girl, not the type you'd expect the best behavior and would have to marry some guys who only want their wives to cook not say what they truly feel..."

She sighed deeply then banged her head into her soft bed.

"I hate my life!" She screamed into her covers and slowly felt her vision disappear...

Anyways, hope that you like this chapter, I will try and write at least two more chapters this week and if anyone writes a comment or likes this or shows a  bit of support this will let me want to write this story much quicker.
