I was exhausted when training ended. I felt like I had sprinted twenty miles nonstop, and I probably have. I avoided using my abilities through all of the activities, despite the constant pestering of Zach and the coach. By the time training ended, five more students had discovered their powers.

This kid, Edmund, was swatting the air to get rid of a fly but suddenly halted and stared at the fly in shock, "Did you just talk?"

Apparently he could talk to animals (and also apparently the fly had a choice of colorful words).

This other girl, Emily, turned out to be a healer. When Alice got a pretty deep cut on her knee, Emily yelled for someone to bring the Aid Kit then walked up to Alice and had her sit down. She said she's studying to be a doctor so she knew what to do. However, when she held Alice's knee to inspect it, the cut grew smaller until it turned into a small scar that soon faded too.

Now the most interesting case was when an obviously competitive girl called Malak lost in the wrestling activity. Her ponytail of curly, coffee brown hair swayed as she stormed towards another mat, steaming as cracks on the ground webbed from each footstep she took. While some eyes nervously flitted to her direction, her oblivious opponent, Raymond, made the mistake of loudly boasting about his victory. She turned around, glared at him harshly and stomped the ground in anger, resulting in a yelp of of surprise as he and the mat disappeared underground. Startled, she looked at the path of cracks leading to her and crouched, placing her palm on the hard earth. Everyone stared at her in mortification as she paled, looking around in panic. She sprinted towards where Raymond previously was and stared at the ground in concentration. When nothing happened, her eyes went glossy as she stomped her foot in a mixture of panic and frustration, "Coach we need to~"

Her words were cut off by the ground rumbling. A circle of earth in front of her visibly softened into soil and Raymond was spit out of the earth, gracefully landing on his back. Moaning in pain, he sat up while Malak hurried to him and brushed the soil that caked his hair and shoulders off of him while apologising, "Dude I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to~I swear I didn't know I could do that."

In the the midst of her ramble, some kid named Jack interrupted her, "It's gonna take a lot more than an apology to own up to what you've done," making everyone's eyes fly towards him. Was he kidding? I hoped so. Alas, he wasn't. He looked absolutely serious.

Malak looked down in shame while Raymond stood up and looked at Jack in annoyance, "Why? She said she didn't know she could control earth. Why do you have to make her feel bad about it?"

"Are you kidding me? You nearly became a buried corpse and you defend her? Doesn't she creep you out the slightest?" Jack questioned, making Malak wince.

Ouch. Well that was harsh. Now that I think about it, Jack's platinum blond hair and annoying personality made him resemble Draco Malfoy.

Raymond became tense and retaliated angrily, "If she meant to hurt me, she wouldn't have saved me too. I was being an idiot anyway. And what did you do to help me, huh? She acted on time and fixed her mistake while you did nothing but watch. The least you could do is shut up." He bit the last part out, furious.

We all stared at Raymond in surprise. Not because of his reply...

But because his hands were on fire.
