I cursed and blindly elbowed him without thinking.

It was an instinct okay? How was I supposed to know he was going to teleport right behind my seat and not to the opposite side of the stage like any normal person would do?

Wait a minute, normal people can't teleport. Wow, great job Sam. You have won the award for being the stupidest person on earth.

I whipped my head to see him bent over in pain, clutching his stomach, bringing the students' attention to Zach and I.

He quickly recovered saying, "Geez, woman. It's not like I slaughtered your whole family or something." causing Mrs. Jenkins to smile and a few students to snicker as well.

Feeling embarrassed, I stood up to gain some height and confidence and defended myself, "Well you shouldn't have teleported right behind me to scare me! I'm not responsible for consequences of stupid choices like yours. Serves you right."

The students went silent for a moment. Then I heard Alice loudly whisper, "You go girl."

The corners of my mouth lifted a little at that, but went back down when Zach teleported back to the stage and announced, "Someone needs to take the chill pill, am I right?"

The students howled in laughter. Dang, it wasn't even that funny. How can someone lame make people laugh like there's no tomorrow but when I score a good point, no one makes a sound?

Popularity makes the weirdest things possible.

I scowled and sat back down in annoyance. At least Alice wasn't laughing, although I could see Alex trying (keyword: trying) to hide his chuckle. But my glare made him shut up.

I wanted to get out of here. My first day of this 'magical' college hasn't even started yet and I'm already a target thanks to an idiot named Zach. I suddenly found it hard to breathe when I looked at all of those mocking faces. I felt humiliated.

I need to get out of here. Fast.

In an attempt to calm down, I closed my eyes and imagined myself back home on the couch watching TV, waiting for dad to get back from work and mom to get back from the grocery store. She always forgets to buy the milk for some reason.

The laughter suddenly halted. I opened my eyes in confusion to find myself on the couch at home. I looked around then pinched myself to make sure I haven't miraculously passed out or something. Nope. I was wide awake. The door rattled and I heard mom's voice. She was probably on the phone.

Wait, I realised. She can't see me here. She'll freak out and question me.

Before I could make any move to hide, the door opened and mom entered. She didn't notice me. How? I didn't know. The couch is in her line sight from the door. Huh, it really must've been a dream or mirage, but I felt the pinch, so I wasn't sure. I still had to leave. It was too late to back out of this university. If mom saw me, I would've had to explain everything about the whole 'superpowers' thing. I forced myself to get out of this dream and back to where I was before: the seat of humiliation.

Everything shifted and I found everyone staring at me with their mouths open, including Zach. While one would have smirked to see an idiot like him taken by surprise, I just scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion. Had I really teleported?

"Well," announced Mrs. Jenkins. "I see that another student has discovered her ability. While it is uncommon that two people of the same age hold the same ability, it happens occasionally. What is your name?"
