"'Cause once upon a time you were my everything, it's clear to see that time hasn't changed a thing..." - Zara Larsson, MNEK

As we walk out into the Los Angeles night scape, I can't help but stare at him out of the corners of my eyes. I wonder what he has gone through in the past seven years. Was he still the loyal type, or has he become like the guys that tend to sleep around rather than commit? If he found the one, did it last? Do they have kids? What is she like?

Was he able to make many new friends? Were they mostly famous, or mostly the average person? Musicians, actors, or a combination?

What made Max turn to the life of a musician? Did something happen to his acting career? Did he even like the life of a musician?

"So how'd you end up in LA, miss... miss, uh..." I wanted to laugh at how awkward Max was being, as if he's trying to pursue me. But I decided against it, because to him I'm just a total stranger.

Why can't I just scream it at the top of my lungs that I'm his best friend?

"Mikayla. My name's... Mikayla."

"Beautiful name." Max smiled gently. *the same thing you said to me when we first met...*

"Thank you." I replied with a blush.

"So why so fancy tonight?" he asked, "I know girls have a tendency to dress up for night clubs, but not as nice as you did tonight." I don't know what to say to that. Should I just straight out tell him, or beat around the bush? Should I even tell him at all?

I guess beating around the bush with it doesn't sound so bad.

"Well, I was actually looking for someone tonight."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, I almost couldn't get in. But the lady I'm staying with knew one of the security guards and I was able to get in that way."

"Well that's some luck." At this point we make it to his car, a Nissan GTR R-35. With the house for his parents and his car, he's definitely made a remarkable amount of money in his endeavors.

"This is a... really nice car, Max. I never would've..."

"Never would've what?"

"Oh nothing." At this he looked at me weirdly.

"You're a strange girl, you know?"

"Whatever you'd like to think." He then opened the passenger side door for me, being the gentleman I remember him to be, before going over to his side and driving off. As I give him directions to Charlotte's place, we laugh and talk together, with him singing to the radio. It felt just like old times...

And with the time that passed, it didn't feel like enough as we ended up in front of Max's house. Once realizing this he slowly turned to me with a disturbed look on his face.

"Uh, did you get your directions mixed up or something?" Max asked, "Because my parents live here."

"I'm sure I'm staying here." I replied. His eyes continued to bulge out of his head, probably thinking I'm one of his stalker fans at this point but doing a fantastic job at masking it. Suddenly I see Charlotte walk out of the house and wave at us on the front stoop.

"That is definitely my mom." Max commented.

"Well she's the one taking care of me." I commented back. At this we both got out of the car, Charlotte rushing out to see his son.

"I see you've found our guest." Charlotte chimed.

"Ma," he sighed, "what did I tell you about trying to set me up with other women? I told you I'm done with the relationship scene after what happened with Emily."
