At 4, I leave work and head over to Tylers to sort things out. I pull into his drive way and walk up to his door. I ring the door bell and his mom answers. "Hey kali! It's nice to see you." She smiles and let's me inside. "It's nice to see you to Mrs. Lucy, Is tyler home?" I ask her. "Yes, he's upstairs working on some project for Science" She tells me and I nod and walk upstairs. I knock silently before opening. I see him sitting in the floor with a poster board in front of him. "Hey" I say to him but it comes out more of a whisper. "Hey kali." He says and I go sit on his bed. He gets up and sits beside me. There was awkward silence before I speak up. "Why did you do it." I say lightly and look down at my lap. "Honestly Kali, I don't know. I guess I didn't wanna look like a whimp." He says and I look at him. "So you would rather make me look like an idiot and watch my boyfriend kiss someone else. Not to mention that she's the one who used to make fun of me. I mean seriously tyler did you not think of my feelings?" I snap and my eyes start to water. "I know it was stupid Kali but it didn't mean anything, you have to believe me." He tells me and a tear falls down my cheek. "Tyler, I cried so about this and you didn't even chase after me when I ran out, Jack ran after me because unlike you he cares about my feelings." I'm crying at this point. Tyler looks down at his lap. "I'm sorry kali, I didn't mean to hurt you." His voice cracks a little. "I think we should break up." I whisper. There is another moment of silence before he speaks up. "If that's what you want kali, then I'll respect that but just know I'll always care for you." He grabs my chin to look at him. "Always" he says and kisses my lips slightly. "Bye Tyler." I get up from his bed and walk down stairs and his mom stops me. "Oh honey, leaving so soon. Would you like to stay for dinner?" She asks me. "I would but Aunt Jen already has tacos ready but thanks anyway." I say. "Alright well I'll see you soon sweety. Drive safe!" She smiles but what she didn't know is that she really wouldn't be seeing me anytime soon. I wave at her before walking out the door. I get into my car and start driving home. I soon see my house in the distance. I pull into my drive way and see Jacks jeep parked? What's he doing here? I get out and walk inside. "Aunt Jen I'm home!" I shout. I hear voices in the kitchen. I walk in to see Jen mixing taco meet and Jack sitting at the bar. "Hey KB how was work?" Jen asks me. "It was okay, not busy so it was boring." I answer and grab a water bottle from the fridge. "Jack came by to get his jacket he left over last night and I told him that you would be home shortly and to stay for dinner." She tells me and Jack nods. "Is the food almost ready because I'm starved." I ask and walk over to look at the meat. "Yeah the meat has about 5 more minutes. Why don't you guys chop up some lettuce and tomatoes." She tells us and I grab the stuff out of the fridge. "Jack will you get me some knives, there in the drawer by the sink." I tell him and he goes and grabs them. I reach in the cabinet below me and grab two cutting boards. I go and rinse of the tomatoe and lettuce before handing the lettuce to Jack. I begin to dice the tomatoe and I cut my finger. "Ouch" I hiss in pain and Jack and Jen turn their attention to me. "You okay sweetie?" Jen asks me and I nod. "Yeah just a little cut, nothing a band aid can't fix." I laugh and Jack grabs my hand. "I'll help you get that cleaned up." We start to walk upstairs and I turn to look at Jen. I can see she's smirking at us and I playfully roll my eyes and she shoots me a wink. I laugh lightly. I swear she's such a kid. We reach my bathroom and I tell Jack where the band aids are. "You know I'm capable of putting a bandage on my finger right?" I say and laugh. "Yes but what kind of a gentlemen would I be if I didn't help a pretty girl like you out?" He says to me and I blush. He dabs the Neosporin on my finger and I flinch. "That hurt" He asks and I nod. He wraps the bandage around my finger and kisses it. "There all better" He says and I laugh. "Thank you Dr. Gilinsky." I smile. "I believe you owe me a kiss for my help." He smirks and wraps his arms around my waist. "Is that so?" I say and wrap my arms around his neck. "You have to work your way up for it." I tell him and smirk. "Alright we'll start with a nose kiss" He says and pecks my nose and I smile.

"We should probably go back downstairs." I say and he nods. We walk down stairs and Jen already has the table set. "The food was done so I finished up for yall and went ahead and set the table." She tells us. We sit down and begin to fix our tacos. I fix 2 soft shells and 2 hard shell and begin to eat. "I think I taste a little blood in my taco." Jack says and we all laugh and I throw some shredded cheese at him. "Shut up you dork." I smile and continue to eat.

*** 1 hour later

It's about 6 something and me and Jack are sitting in my room watching re-runs of Hannah Montana. I haven't told him about me breaking up with Tyler but he probably already knows. "I broke up with Tyler today." I say and Jack looks at me. "You did?" He asks. "Yeah, I figured you would know by now." I tell him and he shakes his head. "Nope, I thought you did but didn't know for sure." He says and I nod. "So that means your single huh." He smirks at me. "Yep I'm a free women." I laugh. "So that means I can kiss you huh?" He continues to smirk. "Baby steps gilinsky, baby steps" I laugh and lay my head on his chest.
