I woke up to see my roommates already gone for the day. My head felt heavy. I got ready, went to my classes, and worked out, skipping the running through the woods part because I didn't want to get attacked by wolves. I took a shower and got cleaned up. I did my homework and tried to pass the time until I heard a knock at the door.
I opened the door to see my boyfriend Cameron.
"Hey babe," I said hugging him.
"Hey, how is everything? You didn't answer my text messages yesterday?" He said coming into my room and closing the door behind himself.
"Oh, I really didn't have time for much of anything. I did my daily routine and went to sleep but something strange did happen yesterday and I ended up losing my phone" I said sitting on my bed.
"Yeah? And what was that?" He asked moving past me to lay down on my bed.
"I saw two wolves in the woods yesterday. They started fighting and I ran away. It was crazy" I said laying back to look at him.
"Whoa, you don't need to be going into the woods anymore. I didn't think that the forest had wolves" he said.
"I didn't either until I thought I was going to get killed," I said.
"You know our 4 year anniversary is this Saturday?" He said smiling up at me.
"Of course I know babe," I said snuggling up to him.
"So I was thinking of going to your family's beach house and spending the weekend together," he said wrapping his arms around me.
"I think that's a great idea," I said kissing him. He rolled over to be on top of me but leaned down to deepen the kiss. I wrapped my fingers in his hair as he ran a hand down my side.
The door opening caused us to pull away from each other and look towards the door.
"Eww, would you guys get a room?" Jerikah said putting her purse down and grabbing a bottle of water out of the mini-fridge.
"Sorry," Cameron said rolling off of me to stand up. "I need to go study for my test anyway so I'll see you tomorrow, babe," Cameron said kissing me before leaving the room. He wants to be a doctor and has to do really well in his classes if he wants to get into medical school.
"Hey, where were you yesterday?" I asked Jerikah as she packed her bookbag. Jerikah is a bit of a firecracker. She is bold and doesn't seem to have a filter. She has stood up for me and pushed me to be more confident.
"I was just hanging out with some friends. Aurora told me what happened, did you get your phone?" Jerikah asked me.
"No, and I really need to go get it," I said getting up.
"Well you better hurry, it'll be getting dark soon," she said looking out the window.
"Will you come with me?" I asked feeling scared to go through the wolf infested woods by myself.
"I can't, I have to go to tutoring or my teacher won't give me an extension on my essay. I'm sorry" Jerikah said.
"No, its no problem, I'm just feeling paranoid to go by myself," I said.
"Maybe you should get Cameron to go with you," she said before leaving the room.
Cameron has to study for his test so I don't want to bother him. People use that trail all the time and there's never been a report of someone getting hurt so I'll just be quiet, get the phone, and get out.
I walked outside and stood at the beginning of the trail.
"Well, here goes nothing," I said stepping into the forest and walking quickly down the path but keeping my eyes open for my phone.
I got to the area where the wolf fight was and looked more in that area. I probably would have dropped it somewhere around here.
"Are you looking for this?" a very masculine voice asked. I quickly turned to see a man who I can only describe as a greek god.
He had headphones on his neck like had been working out but as I checked him out I realized he held my phone in his hand.
"Oh um, yeah that's my phone," I said walking over to take it from him. As I was going to take the phone and our hands touched, it was like he shocked me. I jumped away not taking the phone.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shock you," I said even though I was pretty sure he shocked me.
He didn't say anything, just looked at me like he wanted to analyze every part of me. That or he was undressing me in his mind.
He stepped towards me. "Aren't you going to take your phone?" He said softly.
"Yeah, sorry," I said taking it from him carefully so our hands wouldn't touch. He seemed to frown at that but I'm not sure why.
"What's your name?" He asked staring into my soul.
"Vivian" I answered looking around. I'm just casually in the woods with a very buff stranger who could probably kill me out here and no one would know.
"You go to Central?" He asked and it seemed like he was really close to me.
"Yes, do you?" I asked.
"No, I just live nearby. What's your major?" he said.
"Forensic Psychology. I'm probably going to be a Psychiatrist" I said and he smiled at me like he knew something I didn't.
"I'll walk you back to your school. A pretty girl like you shouldn't walk alone" he said and I began walking with him back to campus.
"Thank you," I said feeling the blush on my face. He was undeniably handsome and I was flattered at his compliment. "What do you do?" I asked.
"What, as in for a job?" He said.
"Yeah."
"Well I'm the CEO, I guess, of a few things. I own stores and buildings and other things," he said.
"Wow, that's impressive, how did you do that?" I asked surprised. He doesn't seem like he's that much older than me. I thought he was another college student. He does have a stride of maturity. I guess he could be older. I wonder what he's doing so close to campus if he's not a student.
"Well it's passed down from generation to generation so I guess I'm just blessed," he said.
"Well that's good for you," I said admiring him. He has broad shoulders, extremely tall, and very intricate tattoos going down both arms. I don't understand what the symbols mean. I haven't seen them before.
"Thank you," he said as we began to arrive at the end of the trail.
"Thank you for walking me down here," I said turning to face him.
"It was my pleasure," he said smiling at me. No man should ever look this good. He's a walking sin. "Can I see you again?" He asked.
"I really appreciate you walking me back here and finding my phone and all but I have a boyfriend. If you wanted to just be friends then we could hang out" I said and he looked almost angry before his features settled.
"Well I was hoping for more but I can settle for friends," he said. "My number is already programmed into your phone so I'll text you later. Maybe we can hang out tomorrow?" He asked.
"Yeah, tomorrow works for me," I said smiling.
"Alright I'll text you about the details," he said smiling.
"Okay, bye," I said smiling at him before walking back towards my dorm.
I have to admit that he is the most attractive man I've ever seen and he actually wanted to date me but I'm with Cameron and that pretty boy is probably a player.
As I arrived back to the dorm, I studied for a few things and watched a few movies on Netflix before I got ready to go to sleep. I began thinking about the encounter as I drifted off to sleep and realized that the man from the woods never told me his name.
