Ch. 7 Roman's Family

Roman and I continued to bowl. In the end, he won of course. I respect that he didnt just let me win because I'm a girl. We had a fun time goofing off and talking. I started doing crazy bowling stances and elaborate walks as I threw my ball.
When we finished bowling we went to the arcade that's connected to the bowling alley. We played a few games. I actually did good in the basketball game but Roman definitely beat me at a race cars video game. The best game was probably air hockey. It was funny as we both tried to use different techniques to win. Sometimes I found myself getting distracted. He would lean over the table and his muscles would become more prominent. That was probably one advantage he had.

After we finished in the arcade and arrived back at the car. I was sad to think that the night was coming to an end but that was before Roman suggested another idea.

"There's something I want to show you" Roman said putting the car into drive.

"Oh, what is it?"

"Well at the main apartment building, my family and a lot of my close friends are going to this party, gathering to celebrate my cousins birthday and I was wondering if you wanted to go" he said.

"We can, I'd hate for you to miss your cousins party. Do you think I'm dressed well enough?" I asked.

"You look beautiful" Roman said smiling at me and I returned it before looking out of the window.

We listened to music on the way to the apartments. As we arrived I noticed that it didn't look like apartments at all. It looked like a gigantic mansion surrounded by other mansions and fancy houses all over.

"This is the apartment building?" I asked.

"Yup this is it" he said parking the car.

"But it looks like a ginormous house" I said.

"Yeah when it was built we wanted it to look like a home because this town is very close. Everyone knows each other and supports each other" he replied confidently.

"So all these multiple story mansions are where the people of the town live?" I asked.

"Yes and some wanted individual houses for their families so they live in these other surrounding houses" he explained.

"Oh okay, this is just new to me because I've never know a town to be this close and live like this" I said.

"There are a few all over the world who live like we do but it's not common" he said.

"Oh okay well this town is very beautiful" I said smiling at him.

"Thank you, we've worked hard to keep everything in top condition and modern things out" he said as he opened his car door.

I got out of the car and we approached the house together. I could lightly hear the music from outside but when Roman opened the door the sound came pouring out.

We entered and people were dancing, eating, talking, laughing all over the place.

"I don't have time to introduce you to everyone in the community because there's too many and not all of them are here but I can introduce you to my family" he said holding his arm out for me to take.

I hesitated because it would look like we were together but then I realized he was probably doing it so he could lead me through the crowd so I lightly held his arm as he led me through the party.

He approached a few people who looked around my age.

"These are my cousins Alex, James, and Nicole" he said and they smiled at me immediately. I could see them examining me and smiling.
