A Few Months Later

Madison and Quiz Bees relationship had grown into a the strongest bond ever know to mankind. Even Cisco and Madison's bond wasn't as strong as this.

Madison spend many hours a day working and spending time with Quiz Bee. She spent time riding and grooming Cisco but her time with Quiz Bee was doubled, even tripled, compared to her other champion gelding.

I walk Quiz Bee around the arena rail after his hard work out. We had worked on more intricate moves such as the side pass, half pass, piaffe, and passage. Quiz had a hard time with the more advanced movements but he always tried his best to understand what I was asking of him.

After 20 minutes or so, the  gelding was dry and ready to be groomed and put back in his stall. I dismounted and lead him out of the 20x60 meter arena. He followed willingly, knowing what was next. Stall and food.

I cross-tied Quiz Bee and untacked him. After all of his tack was put away, I grabbed my grooming cattie and started brushing off his legs. The were covered with dried mud, so I wanted to get as much of the mud off before I bathed him. I ran the hard brush over the mud, getting out the dust particles.

15 minutes had passed before I had gotten a majority of the mud off. The rain made all of my arenas mud. It was no fun when you were trying to train a horse for a nervous or inexperienced client. After putting my grooming caty away, I lead Quiz into a large wash stall. I clipped him into the cross-ties and turned on the horse.

Warm water spilled over Quiz Bee's back.  The excess water splashed onto the floor and down into the drain. I washed all of the sweat and mud off of my new geldings coat before turning the water off and using a sweat scraper to remove the surplus of water still remaining on Quiz Bee.

He sighed as I ran the sweat scraper over his wet body. Once I was finished, Misty handed me a bright green lead. I clipped it to Quiz Bee's halter and lead him out of the wash stall into the warm spring air. He nickered to his friends in the slightly close paddocks. They whinnied back, then continued to munch on the lush green grass.

Quiz Bee and I walked down the lane heading toward the old stone wall trail. We walked for a while until we came to a large clearing. I let Quiz graze for  while before giving a slight tug on his lead. The geldings head came up and he followed willingly.

We walked back to the the barn through the thickly wooded forest. It was slightly darker than outside in the open and much cooler. I gave Quiz a loving pat and kiss on the head before feeling his coat. I made sure it was completely dry before continuing walking on.

I lead him back to his stall and gave him a molasses covered carrot. He gobbled it down, then nuzzled me for more. I kissed his head then walked out of the geldings stall. After locking the stall door, I started walking up the drive towards my barn.

Once I arrived by the doors, I opened them, hauling the feed cart behind me. I distributed hay, grain, and supplements to my horses. They all were munching happily by the time I locked up for the night. I headed back to the house and started making fettuccine alfredo.

I boiled the noodles over and ended up eating superhot chicken and alfredo with soggy noodle. it hadn't been my best cooking job, but oh well. After that, I gave my boots a quick cleaning before heading up the stairs towards my room.

Once I was in my room, I picked out a pair of blue checkered breeches and a black polo shirt for tomorrow. I laid them in the bathroom.

Everything was ready and in place for the next day, so I decided I should probably shower. I turned the knob to hot and undress. The hot water cascaded over my dust covered body. it felt so good to be clean! After washing and drying, I checked the clock in my bedroom. It was already 9:30.

To late! I thought. I pulled on fuzzy PJ pants and a baggy top before climbing into my warm bed.
