Twelve years later...
*Andre*
"You remember everything I taught and told you," dad asked me.
"Yes папа(Russian-dad) I nodded bouncing on the balls of my feet. "Always watch your back and your surroundings. I got this, I'm the best novice in my class and mom got a hundred when she did this and your score was just below hers."
"Okay smartass," dad chuckled hugging me. "I have to go out to announce everything. Good luck."
"люблю тебя папа(Russian-Love you dad)," I whispered hugging her tightly.
"Всегда и навсегда Маленький принц(Russian-Always and forever little prince)," dad said walking off.
"Andre," turning I smiled at my Uncle Mikhail. "You ready?"
"Yep," I smiled before looking down at my boots. "I wish she was here."
"Me too kid," he sighed. "Here, she told me that if something happened and she couldn't be at your trials then to give this to you."
"Something did happen to her," I mumbled grabbing the small box and opening it. "What?"
"You remember?" Mikhail smiled as I pulled the necklace out.
"Yeah," I mumbled pulling it over my head. "Mom always wore hers everywhere. It was sort of a way to bring us closer together."
"She's proud of you," Uncle Mikhail said pulling me into a hug. "Oh and Rosie has a surprise for you after this is over with, I should go find Sonya and Preston."
"Thanks uncle," I smiled hugging him before he ran off. I waited for my name to be called while everyone else watched from the door.
"Your up," one of the other novices said and I nodded walking out the door and over to my dad and Alberta.
"Don't get me killed," the moroi I was protecting said as we headed out into the field.
"Bu senin için, anne(Turkish-This is for you mama)," I whispered scanning the field before nudging my moroi forward. Sensing movement behind me I spun punching the strigoi and staking him as the other fake strigoi moved in.
---"Andre," Rosie yelled and I groaned when she tackled me to the ground. "Oops, sorry."
"It's fine Rosie," I chuckled pulling her into a hug. "How'd your final go?"
"Highest grade," she smiled. "Thanks for helping me study for it, I probably would have failed if you hadn't."
"Your smart," I smiled kissing her forehead. "You would had done fine. Where are your parents?"
"With your dad," she said grabbing my wrist and dragging my through the crowd. "Mom, I found him. Hi uncle Dimka."
"Princess," dad nodded. "Andre you did good today."
Nodding I dragged Rosie with me to the other side of the room where our friends were sitting.
"You did awesome dude," Ashton said slapping my back.
"Thanks," I winced at the hit.
"Sorry," he said when he saw the wince. "I didn't think about that."
"It's fine," I mumbled sitting down beside Rosie. "How'd you do on your practice trial?"
"I did fine," Ashton grumbled. "All I'm doing is following Abby around its boring especially when she wants to spend all her free time in the library or her room."
"That what it means to be a guardian," I said stealing a cookie off Rosie's plate. "Your protect your charge even if it means you don't get to have fun."
"You always look like your having fun," he said.
"That's because I work hard so I can show people that I'm the best just like my parents were," I said glaring at him before getting up. "I'll see you tomorrow Rosie, don't stay out to late."
"I won't," she smiled and I nodded before making my way back to my dorm before I changed my mind and headed to the cabin.
Sighing I laid down on the bed staring up at the ceiling thinking of my mom before everything happened.
"Seni çok özledim anne(Turkish-I miss you mama, so much.)," I whispered letting my tears fall.
---"Andre," Rosie said and I looked up from the book I was reading. "Where did you go last night? I went to your dorm and you weren't there."
"I was at the cabin," I mumbled as she sat down beside me. "I needed some time to think and went there."
"Oh," she said closing my book and setting it in her bag. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," I smiled pulling her into my lap. "I'll be better when we get to court, I don't like being outside at this time of day."
"You shouldn't worry so much," Rosie said handing me her other ear bud. "You'll get wrinkles."
"So you keep saying," I sighed laying my head back as Unsteady by X Ambassadors lulled me to sleep.
"Andre," someone said shaking my shoulder. "Rosie, wake up we're here."
"I'm up," Rosie yelped rolling out of my lap and onto the floor. "Ow."
"You okay?" I asked her picking her up.
"Fine," she mumbled blushing as I handed her her small backpack and grabbed my two bags and her duffle bag.
"Let's go," I sighed following her her out of the plane. "You going to our parents house first?"
"Yeah," Rosie smiled and I turned toward her after setting the bags down. "So, what do you want to do while we wait to see who you end up guarding?"
"I don't know," I shrugged brushing my bangs back. "Probably what I usually do."
"I hope that means you'll have some for us," someone said behind me I spun on my heel hiding Rosie behind me.
"Your here," I smiled before hugging them. "I can't believe your here."
"Of course me are boy," Grandpa chuckled hugging me. "We are so proud of you."
"Thanks," I smiled before stepping around him so I could get a better look at the person behind him.
"Küçük Prens(Turkish-little prince)," she said.
"Mama," I whispered before hugging her tightly.
