Description*
Crushes...we've all had them, in middle school when the boy your sitting next to is cute, or when the most popular girl in school smiles at you in the school yard that's the type of crushes we've all had. But this crush, this time it's a little different.

When Emily Atkins moves to a new town for her father's job she has to attend evergreen high school, all Emily wants to do for her senior year of high school is to lay low and not attract any attention or drama.
But that's exactly the opposite of what happens when Max Coleman, the schools biggest bad boy notices her and instantly has some kind of infatuation with the new girl and brings all the drama and attention Emily was trying to avoid into her life.
I wouldn't say it's a crush... would I?

Chapter one*
"WHERE'S THE LAST FRY!" I scream at the top of my lungs as I unclip my seatbelt going on the hunt for the lost fry.
"Emily sit down please, we're still driving" my dad scolds me, probably beyond embarrassed that I'm his 17 year old child.
"But dadddd! I was saving that fry!" I whine, taking a peak in the leftover McDonald's bag, trying to locate my missing fry.
I hear him laugh beside me as he turns right at the light bringing up closer to our new home.
"Found you! Aww I thought I lost you!" I coo, pulling out the last fry from the bottom of my McDonald's fast food bag. I take one last look at its salty goodness before chomping down savouring the taste of the wonderful fry, may he rest in peace.
I turn to look at my dad after giving the fry his funeral. "So Dad, are we almost there?" I ask, staring out of the passenger side window.
"Almost" he replies.
I've been dreading this, I hate moving. I had my life all planned out. I had to leave all my wonderful friends who live back in Miami, my school and the person I miss most in Miami. Ms Arnold's, she was my homeroom English teacher and I actually think she had a voodoo doll named after me. She hated my guts and probably wanted an asteroid to come hit my house so I would die.
The day I told Gretchen Arnold's (we're on a first name basis by the way) that I would be moving at the end of the week, her face was priceless. A huge grin formed on her face as she tried to be sympathetic. "Oh, Emily, I'm so sorry to here that please come visit" I bet she's out having a blast tonight.
But back to all seriousness my dad was the big shot lawyer or something like that at his law firm in Miami, and so when his firm so happily decided to open a new office in Orlando they were like oh let's just kick out our most successful lawyer and make him move across the fricken country. So here we are now driving towards our new life in Orlando.
I pull my legs up in my seat so that I'm sitting cross legged and turn to study my dad, I think he's happy now. I mean when my mom left us he took it hard. He started drinking and soon made it a habit to come home drunk most nights and lock himself in his room. I finally decided to get him help and a few months away in rehab he came home shiny and new. A whole new Dad, I know he thinks he's the one taking care of me but I actually believe it's the opposite because this poor man can't even cook to save his life. After mom left 5 years ago, we ate pizza and macaroni and cheese for the longest time until I took some cooking lessons from the oh so awesome YouTube and soon started to make us some real food.
I always thought my parents where the perfect and most happy couple but of course I was wrong and was so totally oblivious to the fact that my mom was out having affairs with any man-slut she could lay her hands on. At first I hated her for leaving, for ruining our perfect family persona we had going on. But after awhile the hatred faded and thankfulness took its place. Yes, I was thankful that my mom left. Because she left I got closer with the person I call my best friend, me and my dad got closer and he's one of the most important person In my life, not including my turtle Robert of course.
We pull into the drive way, "We're here" my dad says. I look out of my window and see a small yet cute and simple house. The moment he parks the car, I burst out trying to stretch out my legs which have been cramped in that car for hours.
"Well this looks nice" my dad says, looking towards the house.
"Eh, not if you count the blood stains on the side walk over there" I say before walking up the steps of our house.
"What!" I hear my dad shout from behind me as I turn around laughing like a total maniac. I watch as he scans the side walks for any sign of red but of course there is none. Total lie by yours truly, the turtle whisperer.
My dad turns to me and glares marching up to me and pressing the key to my chest. "I guess you'll be unpacking the car then" he walks into the house.
I groan and mumble a few incoherent words as I make my way back down the steps towards our Mini Cooper.
The suns close to setting when I finish bringing all the baggage into our new house, I walk inside and instantly smell the lovely scent of burning.
Oh no...

Da da dan!!! (Cue intense music)
Well sorry for ending it on a cliff hangar there, but my fingers where getting sore from typing. Aren't I so smart for writing this at 1 am?!?Anyways, I thought that my protagonist for this story would be well portrayed by shay Mitchell, but that's just my envision of Emily's character you do you boo. (You choose who ever suits you) in other words.
I will be hopefully be publishing every Tuesday and Thursdays, soo try and be patient till then!! Or I might just randomly post but always be ready those two days!!
So ya I really hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I hope you keep reading because I have many more ideas for this book and where it will lead.
Also ignore any mistakes, grammar or spelling mistakes since this has not yet been edited!!
Anyways,
Vote and comment ;)
