Join... them? I couldn't help but freeze the moment Angel had said the word "join". Memories, of people that I once knew, flashed through my mind in a frenzy while Ashton expressed his disagreement and Ace was... well just Ace. But, I couldn't... no... I won't. I snapped out my stupor. I wipe my face clean of any emotions that had even attempted to slip out of me.

"I don't do groups. Even if I do, why would I even want to join you?" I took a step back and placed my hands on my hips, raising a slender brow up. Me, join them? What a joke. I guess she skipped over that part of her life in which I tried to kill her.

"Well, why not? I mean, we could prove to be useful allies and vice versa. Plus, I never had a female friend before or, well, a real friend. Ashton is my twin so he doesn't really count, and Ace is too busy shoving sticks up his stink hole, and I couldn't help but think it would be nice to have another girl in the group," Angel rambled on and on but I just stared blankly at her. What part of "I don't do groups" didn't she comprehend?

"Angel! Are you hearing yourself? You're asking the very girl who tried to kill you to join our group? Are you stupid or what? I know you don't use your brain often, but can you use it for once this one time!" Ashton exploded, waving his arms around in an angry frenzy.

"I do have a brain, and, yes, I am using it. I think you should tell that to yourself instead. If you were actually using your brain, you would see that it is actually a good idea. In a world like this, it's always a good thing to have allies, if nothing more than that," Angel replied coolly.

"Ace, c'mon man, tell me you don't agree with this?" Ashton asked, turning to look at him pleadingly.

"I could care less. If she joins, she will responsible for her own life."

"Well, I disagree! Since you both are lacking the necessary brain cells required at the moment, I will have to act as your common sense and missing brain cells. It is a bad idea to have her join! What if she tries to kill us in our sleep? Or run off with our belongings?" Ashton fumed, holding clenched fists by his side.

I cut in. "I never said I was going to join, so you can quit your whining, blondie. Like I said before, if you weren't paying attention, I don't do groups nor any form of alliances. I suggest you don't do so either, people will only end up backstabbing you in the end," I snapped. They stood there in silence for a moment.

"How about we formally introduce ourselves since last time we really couldn't because... of some events that happened?" Angel chuckled nervously, placing her hands behind her back and rocking on her feet. Trying to break the ice, huh?

I merely rolled my eyes. I can see that I'll get annoyed with this one the most, but maybe not.  Maybe I'll go on with this little charade of hers, just to entertain the idea. If only just a little.

"Fine. My name is Serena Silverman. Delighted to be your acquaintance," I proclaimed with a little mock bow. There is no literal point to this. Should I drop the act and leave now, or stay a while longer?

       Meh, maybe I'll stay.

Angel smiled and clasped her hands in front of her. "I'm Angel Blackwood. Also, since my brother is being childish, I'll introduce him to you. His name is Ashton Blackwood," Angels say as she pointed towards her seething brother. "Ace want me to introduce you too, or are you gonna do it yourself like the big boy you are?" she teased, sending a quick wink his direction.
