Alois' Pov

"You, you what?" I stuttered.
"I love you."My hands got all sweaty and I slipped off the railing. I screamed, but I felt Ciel grab my hand.
"Don't let go!" He yelled.
"I wasn't planning on it." I scoffed.
He pulled me up so I could grab the railing and we landed on our backs  on the balcony.
"Thank you." I said, out of breath.
"Of course." He huffed.
We layed side by side on the balcony, breathing heavily, for a long time before I noticed that Ciel was snoring. I guess he hadn't been sleeping either. I gently picked him up and tucked him into my bed before going to take a bath.

Ciel's Pov

I woke up in an unfamiliar bed, but I soon recognized it to be Alois' room. I got up and went downstairs to look for Alois.
"Ah, Ciel, you're awake!" I heard his voice from the bottom of the stairs.
"How long was I asleep?" I asked.
"Only a few hours. Sebastian was getting bored sitting around but I asked Claude to keep him busy. Can I get you anything?" He asked.
"Some tea would be nice." I suggested.
"I agree. Hannah! Make us some tea." He called to his maid. She walked through the room and to the kitchen, muttering a 'yes, your highness' as she passed Alois.
"Are you feeling better? You looked tired so I thought I should let you sleep." He said, grabbing my hand and dragging me to the couch where he sat down and pulled me with him.
"Yes, I do feel better. Thank you. But you don't look so good, Alois. Have you slept or ate recently?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm okay. But I don't want to talk about that. Let's move on to happier things." He said. But he yawned after, so I could tell he was lying.
"You should get some rest, Alois." I said.
"Okay." He yawned again before laying down, his head in my lap, and his legs stretched out on the rest of the couch.
"I didn't mean on me." I mumbled, but he was already asleep. I brushed some of his golden hair out of his eyes. He had dark circles and he looked even paler than usual.
It's my fault. I thought. I'm the reason he hasn't been sleeping. Forget that, things will be better now. I hope.
I rested my head on the back of the couch, and quickly fell asleep once again.

Alois' Pov

I woke up on Ciel's lap, and could hear his faint snoring. I didn't want to wake him, so I stayed where I was. Why would I want to move anyway. All I ever wanted was to be next to him, and now I was.
He woke up a few minutes later, and blushed a little when he remembered that I was still laying in his lap.
"Good morning." I smiled.
"Good morning, Alois." He said back. I sat up, still in his lap. I poked my fingers into his cheeks and forced his mouth into a smile.
"Why don't you ever smile, Ciel?" I asked.
"Because I have nothing to smile about. The world is a filthy place."
I was kind of shocked by his answer. Did he truly believe that?
"Not everything in the world is bad, Ciel." I frowned.
"I suppose you're right. I have you."
I got butterflies in my stomach, and I could feel myself blushing. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in his shoulder.
He flinched a bit at first, but his arms slowly wrapped around my waist.
"Thank you Ciel." I said.

Ciel's Pov

Alois was still clinging very tightly to me. I let him because I feel like he might need it. I doubt he's ever received any form of affection in his life, so as much as it goes against my character, I find myself hugging him back. Then an alarming thought goes through my head. Elizabeth. I'm still engaged to her. But I love Alois. I decide not to mention it to Alois right now, because we just sorted things out, and he doesn't need something else to hurt him like I did before. He let go of me a few minutes later.
"Claude, make us some more tea, ours has gone cold." He yelled.
"Yes, your highness." The butler appeared out of nowhere, much like Sebastian does- speaking of which, where is he?
"Alois, what have you done with Sebastian?" I asked. He smirked.
"Oh, he's around here somewhere. Probably the basement."
"Let him go, Alois." I said.
"Fine. Spoil the fun." He laughed. He told Claude to go get Sebastian. Claude set the tea in from of us on the table before retreating to the basement. He returned with Sebastian, who rushed to my side immediately.
"My lord, are you alright? I'm afraid I was otherwise occupied for the past few hours." He said, sending a nasty glance at Claude.
"I'm fine." I said.
"Very well. Do you want to go home?" He asked.
"No, Ciel please stay!" Alois said clinging onto me once again. The two butlers seemed confused, but didn't question it.
"I have work to do at home. I have to return at some point, or the servants will go mad." I explained.
"Could I come with you?" He asked, looking up at me.
"I suppose so. Sebastian, is the carriage ready?" I asked.
"Yes, My Lord." He responded.
"Very well. Let's be on our way then." I said. "Alois you're going to have to let go of me so I can walk." I said.
He looked upset but he released his hold on me, but took my hand in his. I rolled my eyes, but didn't object as we walked hand in hand to the carriage.

The chapters keep getting shorter again and I apologize for that. Hope you're enjoying the story anyway. 🙂🌹🕷
