Chapter 10

"Who the hell do you think you are?" He said.

I turned to see who grabbed me by the arm and looked right up in those melting hazel eyes. I was waiting for him to finally see who stole the puck from him and who checked him into the boards. A couple of seconds went by and I reached for my visor and lifted it off my eyes.

His reaction was priceless. I saw his furious facial expression change into a more angered state.

"Your the one that made that goal and checked me?!" Crosby said loudly.

"Yeah, you have a problem with that?"

I kind of felt bad for the guy since he did get beat by a girl.

He looked at me for minutes which actually felt like forever. Finally I turned away shoving his hand off my arm and skated to the bench placing my visor back in place. The guys on the team moved away so I could get through the gate and into the tunnel.

People were cheering but I went straight into the hallway and I passed Wilson. Before passing him I saw him expression. More like a jaw dropping expression. I smirked at my win and continued to the trainers room to get changed.

"Knock knock" he said coming in. I knew it was him since I could hear him come down the hallway with crutches.

"Well hi ya, didn't expect you to come in." I said teasingly. He looked at me confused and asked, "Aren't you mad at me?"

"No, but should I be? You were trying to help me but I just got in the way when you tried to punch him. Haha did you see the look on Crosby's face?" I said chucklingly.

His expression changed into a wide smile and we laughed together at the thought. I was almost done getting off my gear when coach comes into the room. The last thingWilson told me was that they were in the third which makes me ask myself - Why is coach coming now? It's not intermission?

"Mika" he said.

"My office tomorrow morning 8:00 sharp, don't be late." His remarks always sounded threatening but I wonder what he needs to talk about.

I mean I did go onto the ice and almost ruined a good game but that didn't happen. Instead I helped them take down a top ranked player and scored a goal on one of the countries best goal tender.

"Okay, coach I'll be there." He nodded and made his way back to the benches. I looked down at what I was doing and saw Wilson standing in the doorway.

"I have to go to his office tomorrow morning." I said sounding a bit down.

"Oh, I hope it's nothing too bad. Honestly what can they do? You made a freaking NHL goal and we are in the lead. Plus I need you to help me through this." He was referring to his injury.

I smiled at him. At first I thought he was this egotistical male that thought he had everything and was a stuck up snob but I realize now that he is very down to earth and can be nice.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to go anywhere without helping you out first."

He motioned me to come to him and I followed. His arms were spread out for a hug and I went in for it. His arms wrapped around me tightly which made me feel so safe and comfortable. Honestly he has the best hugs that made me want to stay there all night.

Eventually the night ended with us winning in OT with 6-5 and Ovechkin gave us the winning goal. I bet those penguins are so mad right now.

I packed up my things and decided that it was time to leave. I was walking out when I saw Wilson juggling his bags and crutches. I went over to him and grabbed his hockey bag so he could situate his crutches so he didn't fall. I giggled at the sight of such a talented hockey player not being able to handle crutches.

He saw my reaction and did a puppy dog face probably indicating that I was making fun of him. I returned it and he said I won. I walked with him to the players garage and just before we got to his car I turned to head towards mine.

I looked back behind me to see if he was following but he stopped right in his tracks seeing where I was going with this.

"I'm going to drive you home." I said to him.

He gave me a 'I can handle doing this myself' type of look.

"Trainers orders." I said smiling. He gave up and started to hobble towards me still not getting the hang of crutches. You would think that it would be easier than skating in a blade and maintaining balance.

I threw his stuff in the back of my car and had the second row down for my hockey sticks and equipment.

I got into the car and looked around at his surroundings.

"You drive this car? Isn't it a bit big?" He said while looking at my preference of choice. Which was a red Cherokee jeep.

"I like big cars, it makes me feel important." He looked to the back of the car and said.

"So you play? Or are you holding this for other people like boyfriends or best friends." He was really sneaky with that question. He pretended to be looking out the window then making sure I heard him by looking back at me.

I turned my focus back to driving and I was headed out into the road and smiled.

"No these are my things and I'm not holding them for a boyfriend or best friend." I said.

I could see from the corner of my eye that the answer was what he hoped for.

We arrived at Wilson's apartment and I pulled into a parking space. I got out of the car bringing crutches to Wilson and getting his hockey bag. I looked around for any paparazzi but this girl took a picture of me and Wilson. Automatically I held my hand up to my face and shielded it from the camera.

I felt Wilson's arm wrapping around my shoulder and he said, "It's okay" chuckling. I listened and kept walking in his embrace without shielding my face.

We entered through the lounge and he picked up some mail at the front desk. I was looking around when someone stops me right in front of the elevator.
