***THERE IS SEXUAL CONTENT IN THIS CHAPTER...YOU WERE WARNED***
I sat silently on Dominic’s couch as he paced back and forth in front of me. I occasionally heard him murmur words, but I was never able to make out what he was saying. I fidgeted on the rich, leather couch. He had a nice house and I would have loved to admire it, but I didn’t want him to hurt me or something.
“Why were you there?” I froze because my mind hadn’t quite processed that Dominic said something to me. “Don’t make me as again, why were you there?”
“I- I wanted to spend my day at the park.” The look on his face was a mix between agitation, worry, and plain anger. I didn’t understand the mix of emotions, but I knew today was a day that I would not mess with Dominic.
“And why were you at the fountain?”
“I walked there and sat down to rest.”
“Then why did you stay there when you saw all those men appear?” I opened my mouth to answer, then shut it. What was I supposed to say?
I saw you standing there sexily and I missed seeing you?
“I figured I’d be in more danger if I left and they saw that I’d witnessed something.” Dominic stared at me before chuckling slightly.
“In my profession, I’ve learned to discover when people are lying to me, and you, Querida, are lying to me. Now, why did you stay?”
“Because I saw you.” Now it was his turn to freeze and stare at me with a questioning look.
“And why would seeing me, make you put yourself in danger?” Now was clearly not the time to express that I’d formed a crush on him.
Even if that was the reason.
“I don’t know. I just did!” My outburst was enough to throw him off my track. But even more, his phone rang. When he looked at the caller ID, his eyes shot to me and his face hardened.
“Hola Mauricio, que pasa?” He waited as the voice in the phone spoke. I was quiet, afraid that somehow the man would know it was me and send people after me. “Lo siento, Mauricio. No puedo verte hoy.” He stopped speaking to listen again. “Tengo problemas. Okay, manana. Hasta luego, amigo.”
(Hey Mauricio, what’s up. I’m sorry, Mauricio. I can’t see you today. I have problems. Okay, tomorrow. See you then, friend.)
Dominic hung up his phone and turned to me. “Knowing Mauricio, he’ll send people to my house to see if I was lying to him. We are going to your house tonight. Nobody will come to your house tonight and nobody leaves.”
“Does that include you too?” He nodded and my heart skipped a beat. Since he hates me now, I wonder how this sleepover is going to turn out.

“Hey Erica, I know this is maybe pushing a little, but is there any way you can keep Orlando tonight. I’m having problems that I really don’t want to worry Nandy with.”
