Chapter 14

After arriving at the safe house Niall led me to my room and helped bring my things in after he left the room i started to unpack. Pitting things in random drawers around the room. Once i finished i passes our on the bed.

I woke up to the smell of what i thought was bacon so i got up and walked around until i found the kitchen and saw Niall standing over the stove making pancakes bacon and eggs.

"Mornin' sunshine." He says as he gives me a plate filled with food.

"Mornin' Mr. Chef." I chuckle.

"So what you want to do today because we will be leaving in a couple days got any loose end to tie up before we leave?" he smiles.

"Um, yeah I am going to call me grandparents because last I talked to them I told them I was moving in with a close friend of mine." I kindly reply.

"Okay you can borrow my phone if you need to just tell them you and some friends are going on winter break back in America to celebrate the holidays and stuff."

"Yeah I will because if I tell them I'm leaving the country to get away from my ex gang leader that is trying to hunt me down and do who knows what to me they would flip." I laugh.

"Yeah my parents would too I told them I just going there for more college choices sense we are seniors."

"I should say that then I don't have to come back." I smirk to myself. "Well I'm going to call my grandparents and maybe my mom and see what she says."

"Okay, good luck with your mom." He says with a smirk.

"Thanks I will need it because if my passport is expired I will need her to help me with it."

"Better get to it we are leave in a couple days!"

"Yeah well I'm off to beg and plea!"

"Have fun!" He laughs.

"Oh you know I will." I say sarcastically.

I talked to my grandparents they were cool with it and I'm just about to call my mom and see what she says about me coming back to the states, so here goes nothing.

I press call and listen to the rings then they stop and I here a,

"Hello this is the Ross residents this is Margret speaking." My mom says into the phone. I am never surprised by her proper language.

"Hey mom it's Alex." there is a long pause on the other line telling me how shocked that I am calling her after not speaking for two years and only getting a letter once a month with money for food and stuff.

"Alex..." She almost whispers into the phone.

"Yeah mom it is me." I smile into the phone.

"What do you want when ever you call you want something so what is it?" she says in a snotty tone, yep my mom is back...

"Um, I just wanted to tell you I'm coming back to the states and I'm going to stay with some friends I have got a couple college opportunities and I want to take advantage of them and see how things go..." I trail off.

"Oh.." she pauses. "So you don't need anything?" she asks surprised.

"No I just wanted to tell you."

"Um okay..." She trails obviously at a loss for words at my decision but the sad part is it is a complete and utter lie.

"So um bye mom." I say and hang up ending the awkward silence between us.

I run down the stair to Niall and see him plat GTA 5 so I grab a controller and start playing with him and enjoying the last couple of days I can relax before my life flies into complete and utter chaos...
