Naruto OC Story- Forgotten Member

Chapter 4: Adventure to the Land of the Waves!

"Hotaru. I'm at Point D."

"Sakura! Point C."

"Sasuke. Point B."

I sighed, waiting for Naruto to announce his position.  I'm currently hiding in a large oak tree, searching for our target. 

Suddenly Naruto screams into the earpiece, "NARUTO! I'M AT POINT A, DATTEBAYO!"

I think my ears are bleeding from that outburst.

I frown, this is one of the worst missions Team 7 has ever been apart of.  We have to find a stupid cat.  Best mission ever! Ha. Ha. Ha.

"You're slow, Naruto."  Kakashi-sensei comments, while I yawn.  We've been on this mission since like 6 am.  It is currently 9 am and I didn't sleep at all.  I studied (and attempted) some new jutsus and stayed up too late.  I was late by 20 minutes and got an earful about it from both Naruto and Sakura.

"The target has moved!  Follow it!" Kakashi-sensei commands. 

I leap from the tree and run towards the cat.  Both Naruto and Sasuke are running with me towards the target.  The cat ends up jumping into a nearby bush.

"What's the distance from the target?"  Kakashi-sensei asked.

"About 5 meters away from us," I respond to Kakashi-sensei.

All four of us are ready to pounce on the cat, but we have to wait for Kakashi to give the signal.

"NOW!"

Naruto is the first one to spring forward into the bush.  After a few seconds of hisses and screams, Naruto appears with the cat.

"I GOT HIM!  I GOT HIM!" Naruto exclaimes, as the cat, Tora, begins to scratch up Naruto's face.

"Can you verify the ribbon on the right ear?" Kakashi-sensei askes into the earpiece.

Sasuke looks at the brown cat and replies, "Affirmative.  We have a positive ID." 

I sigh, of course Sasuke and Sakura would ignore Naruto's screams for help.  I walk towards the blonde ninja and rip Tora off of him.

"Thank you, Hotaru-san!"

I smile as the cat begins to purr as he rubs against my leg.  I bend down and start to pet Tora.  Sasuke rolls his eyes at me while Sakura smiles. 

"The lost pet, Tora, has been captured.  Mission accomplished!" Kakashi-sensei annonces happily.

I look at Naruto, who is bleeding from the cat's attack.  I frown and reach into my pouch.  I grab some gauze and wrap it around Naruto, who is surprisingly quite as I do so. 

"MEOW!"  Tora yelled/meowed at me.  I giggle as the cat tries to get my attention.

As I stand up, Tora jumps into my arms and becomes a purring machine.

"I didn't know cats liked you, Hotaru-san."  Sakura comments.

I laugh nervously, "Most animals do love me.  Especially household pets!"

She sweatdrops and turns back towards Sasuke, who is walking back towards the village.

Suddenly, Naruto yells, "WHY CAN'T WE HAVE A BETTER MISSION?!  I HATE CATS!"

I laugh, "And Tora hates you too!" Tora meows back, as if saying yes.

----TIME SKIP----

We are reporting back to the Hokage that the mission was a sucess.  Sadly, that meant I had to give Tora back to his owner.  Now, after seeing his owner, I would've ran away too!  In fact, Tora didn't even want to leave my arms, and started to scratch me.  Hopefully he had his shots or I might have some sort of parasite in me!
