Before humans, what was there? Millions of miles of open, empty space. Darkness that consumed whatever it touched, engulfing it. A vacant space waiting to be filled.

And angels.

Creatures of purity and beauty, beings that symbolised hope, peace and love. They were the warriors, the guiders, the messengers and the protectors.

It is said that God created angels before humans, creating each winged creature in what he saw as his own perfect image...

Soon enough, a fair number of angels populated the Heavens, their days filled with harmony and tranquillity as they existed for no real purpose, their main concern being to be please their creator and God.

But, just as quickly as the angels had been created, soon God became wary of the pitch-black canvas, that we called the Universe, and so, humans became his next project. They were to be a race lower than God and angels, but were to be watched over by the angels. That was all the angels were told before the Lord began his quest to create his idea.

After exterminating darkness on a certain planet, the Lord indulged it into light, and created the Night and Day. This planet was named Earth, a perfect place for humans to reside.

The next several days had the angels all on edge, watching God create a new species, and curious as well as anxious as to what these so-called humans were.

"They'll have crooked tails! And horrible horns protruding from their heads!" Gabriel exclaimed, jumping up and down excitedly as he giggled at the image. The small harp that was held loosely in his right hand fell to the floor as he was softly tapped at the back of his head, making the small angel jump in surprise.

"Don't be so ridiculous, Gabriel. It is evident the Lord will morph them into beautiful creatures... Although, perhaps not as beautiful as myself." Raphael resorted back, silver locks falling down his back like finely woven silver. He was truly beautiful, but due to the arrogant attitude that accompanied his looks, Raphael often found himself being envied. And yet still admired.

In Heaven, it was quickly discovered that each angel had a rank, and whether it be high or low, everyone knew better than to seek quarrel with their creator, fore he could just as easily exterminate life as he had produced it.

However, a certain group of angels were extremely fortunate as to be some of the highest-ranking, named the Archangel. The five of them not only incredibly attractive and talented, but also known as God's 'favourites.'

Gabriel, Raphael, Michael, Uriel and Lucifer.

They were well known, whether it be for positive or negative reasons. They were a strange combination, from the silent and remorseful Uriel to the naïve and innocent Gabriel, and then of course, there was the self-absorbed Raphael, as well as the stoic and tenacious Mickael. The only ordinary member in the group was the ravishing and intelligent Lucifer, with his silken black hair that fell to his shoulders, and eyes the colour of granite and ash. He truly was the son of the 'Morning star.'

"Well, I find that the two of you are being unbearably irritating, so please just be silent while we await Lucifer's arrival."

Both Gabriel and Raphael soon became silent, becoming increasingly bored as they waited for Lucifer. Where could he be? To be fair, Lucifer was much more popular than most, so he was most probably caught up in a crowd full of cheering 'fans.'

Mickael scoffed at the thought.

As though on cue after being discussed, Lucifer burst through the doors, large smile plastered on to his face as he strolled into the room casually, as though he was on time, and not half an hour late for the gathering.
