"Whew!" I wiped the burning summer sweat off my forehead in exhaustion as I placed the last empty box down.

We finally finished unpacking our stuff into our new house. I hopped up the stairs from the garage examining every little creak. As I entered my brand new room I spun around in a 360. My lips parted into a smile as I self-praised myself in admiration.

I decided to walk back to where my parents were. Every stride I took towards the living room, I could hear my them talking quieter and quieter. They're just making plans, I assumed.

"Katie, we thought it would be a good idea to take a quick drive around the town if you're up for it," my dad offered as soon as I got into their eyesight.

"Umm," I thought about it for a while, I was already exhausted from unpacking. "No thanks. I'm really tired."

I slumped myself onto the nearest couch which took me an embarrassing amount of time to find because of the new arrangement.

"Ok," my mom started. "It's your choice. Your dad and I are leaving right now."

My dad got up and grabbed the keys and tossed them to my mom. She caught them then leaned down and kissed my forehead.

"Stay safe honey," she said and then they both walked out the door and shut it behind them.

I heaved myself up from the cushioned seat and grabbed my phone from the kitchen counter before leaning against the marble top.

Scrolling down, I found the contact name 'Alexa'. My mind immediately remembered that I didn't update my best friend on any news of my new house. I began to walk outside pulling up the camera app to take a picture of the new house.

Taking a generous amount of steps back I held up the phone. It didn't get the whole house in the camera's view.

I took one more step back. The chimney wasn't in the frame.

Another step. Not perfect enough, this wasn't professional looking yet.

One more step. Too blurry.

A small hop forwards. Decent, I guess.

Before my finger could hit the capture button a voice called out, scaring me.

"No offense but do you know how weird you look to people walking by," a male voice, approximately my age.

I spun around, half jumping, to find a brown haired boy with gray-blue orbs gazing at me awkwardly.

My cheeks flushed with a burning embarrassment. "Oh sorry," I managed.

Great job Katie, I mentally groaned, already got a bad reputation in front of an extremely good looking guy. Oh did I mention he was good looking. Also, he's very good looking. Why don't I just go die in a hole.

His eyes seemed to scan me. "Why?"

"Sorry, what?" I asked, concerned that he may have read my mind.

"Again. Why did you say sorry?" He slightly squinted at me.

"I'm sorry," I cringed. "Wait no I didn't mean that! Sor-" I stopped myself in time to face-palm myself.

The boy disappointedly shook his head and then looked back at me, changing the conversation. "Are you new here?"

"Yeah, I actually just moved in today," I answered, already feeling like curling into a ball and hiding from the world.

He nodded in acknowledgement and then swung back around, started walking, and at that moment I could swear I saw him smile.

I stood there frozen for a second or two. Slowly it came to my realization that I didn't take a picture of my new home yet. I whined but eventually did the whole process again.
