Before I knew it, we were both standing in front of a black and white house. I trotted up to the door before inserting the key and twisting.

The door pushed open and we stepped inside the fairly vacant house. There were still a few boxes laying around from earlier in the week.

"It's so clean in here," Brendon pointed out.

"You mean empty," I corrected.

"True," he agreed.

"Do you want anything to drink," I offered before walking up to the fridge and opening it. "Well, all we have is water actually."

"No thanks," Brendon walked over to the couch and sat down.

I followed behind him and sat on the couch that formed a ninety degree angle from his.

"So, what do you in your free time?" I asked, not knowing what else to do.

"It matters the time of day but, normally I just-" he was cut of by multiple beeping noises coming from my pocket.

I frantically pulled out my phone to see the lock screen reading, '6 new messages from Lexi the Bestie'

How did she send six texts all in one second. I thought to myself.

As I pressed the notification and it showed me her messages.

"Kaaattieeeee," she sent.

"Katie notice me,"

"ok just snswer this question,"

"oops, typo, I meant answer,"

"is this guy cute *insert image of a boy around 17*"

"I think he is,"

"Alexa," I typed back, "did you just take a picture of a random guy? :/"

"Well, not really. I have been staring at him for a while now."

"omg Lexi! You don't even know him!"

"that's the point!"

I rolled my eyes before putting my phone on do not disturb mode.

"What happened," Brendon questioned.

"Oh, just my friend being her usual, insane self," I sighed.

I could hear him breath out a tiny chuckle.

"No, Alexa is absolutely crazy, not even funny. But, that's one of the reasons why I became her friend,"

"Wow,"

"Yeah," I paused, "wanna play a game or something?"

"What do you wanna play?"

"I have UNO somewhere here I think,"

"Sure,"

"I'll go get it,"

I got up and made my way to the closet, where it was hidden in a box. Lifting the box down, I reached inside and grabbed the small container containing the cards. I pushed the box back in and turned around to go to the living room.

"I call first!" Brendon called as soon as I returned.

"You know that's not always good," I stated.

"Oh well," he shrugged.

I placed down the cards and handed out seven to each of us.

We spent the next thirty minutes playing the game, until it came down to Brendon with 5 wins and me with 2.
