Hell or Heaven

Chapter 5

I woke up in Luke's truck I looked at him and he said that he didn't want to wake me up so he carried me to the truck. We are almost at the airport and I booked us a cheap hotel so we don't attract any unwanted attention. The drive there was about 30 minutes. We flew to Denver airport picked up our rented car and drove to the hotel, it was a best western. Luke checked us in and we went to our room which was on the 2nd floor. After we put on some new clothes and refreshed ourselves we drove to the address. To not be seen we parked a few ways down the road and we also went into the grim and started to walk around the house. I saw some open windows on the second floor and nothing more. I heard Luke and went over to him. He stood by a door that was old and looked like if you blew on it, it would fall over. Luke put his hand on the doorknob and opened it. No one was inside so we stepped in and closed the door behind us. It was extremely cold inside like the house was its own freezer. We walked thru the house and looked in every room if there was something. There was one room where I felt a connection to. I went over to the door and as I touched the door a flash of light appeared and I knew where I was in an instance.

I stood at the front door a little 6 year old girl coming home from school. I took out my key and opened the door to our house. My sister stayed home today because she was sick. Mom was in the kitchen cooking and dad in his office working on something. I put my stuff on the counter in the entrance area and went to mom.

"Hi mom how is sis doing?" I ask.

"Better than this morning." She answers me. Then went back to what she was doing. I turned around and went upstairs to see sis. She was in her bed sleeping. I got changed but just as I wanted to walk out the door sis said something. I turned around and nodded my head. Me and my sis are telepathic we can talk to each other thru our minds which is awesome. I went out but as soon as I did I heard a big bam from downstairs and went back inside. I took my sister and went into the closet. I closed it and as soon as I did I saw a monster come into our room. It turned everything upside down and then stopped in front of the closet. I told my sis whatever happens next we will always be together. She nodded then the doors were ripped out from its hinges and a hideous monster stood in front of us it's sword came down and slayed us.

I snapped out of it and I was breathing hard. I crouched down on the floor and started to cry. I sat there for a while but stood up after a few minutes then I was my old self again just a little or a lot scared out of my mind. Before I wanted to open the door I called Luke and he came right away. I told him that I felt something in that room but that it was a dark but familiar presence. Luke went to the door he called his sword then opened the door. He stood there his mouth dropped to the floor I came to him in an instance. The room was a child's bedroom so I stepped in and looked around. I saw toys, pictures of two girls arm in arm, two beds and more. I stopped at one picture lifted it up and I recognized one of the girls. I stroked my hand along the picture of me and my sister before...... At that moment Luke looked over my shoulder and asked me if I knew them. I nod my head.

"This is me and my sister before we got killed by a reaper that heard we had special powers. The next thing I remembered that I was in heaven and the angels talked to me about protecting earth from demonic reapers and that I had a special gift when I was born the same with my sister." I tell him. Luke expression showed sadness. I went to the closet and there was still blood of me and my sister, the room was still very messy and I closed my eyes. Luke put a hand on my shoulder and pulled me into him we stood there a long time. I felt a warm drift of wind coming from a place in the wall. I went over and fiddled around with my fingers on the wall until I found a flap in the wallpaper so I pulled it open and I found that there was a paper roll inside. I opened it and on there was a language that I didn't get. Luke came to me and looked at the piece of paper. He looked at me then said Nate would know what this will say let's take it to him and get out of here. I wanted to walk after but I saw something else in the wall it was an old leathery book. I pulled it out and this time I went after Luke. I showed the book to him and he also seemed curious about it. He told me that we are going to open it when we get home.
