CHAPTER EIGHT

Alexis' POV

"So, why are we really here Lex?" Jamie asks as she lies down the couch and puts her head in my lap.

Because of this day's events, I've decided to invite my friends to come over into our house to watch a movie, since it's a Friday night. I don't want to be alone tonight, and I want someone to talk to, so why not make that someone to everyone, right?

I am sitting at the couch, playing with a pencil, twirling it around my fingers. Brett is on his stomach at the floor, his elbows were resting on the floor, with his chin on his hands. Ethan and Brittany were cuddled up in their usual spot; the love seat.

"To watch a movie." I answered absent mindedly.

I can't stop thinking about Cassidy, and the way that she asked me out at the cafeteria. It still felt like a dream, and I can't believe she did that. My past girlfriends wouldn't even think of doing anything like that. Heck, I couldn't even imagine myself asking someone out in public. Is she sincere? Does she care about me? What about the "I like you" that she said at the stock room? Did she mean it? Or maybe...

She now remembers everything about us?

I can't help but feel happy and at the same time scared at the thought of her remembering our past, because that means she'll remember me, the love we shared and... Our promise.

*Flashback...(10 years ago)*

"Cassie, may I ask you?" I asked Cassie, who is now busy watching the stars above.

We were at the park, lying on our favorite spot beside this sandbox where we first met, staring up at the sky.

She giggled. "You're already asking! Stupid."

"I was just wondering if... Are we going to stay the same when we got older?" I asked, ignoring her remark about me being stupid. She knows I hate being called stupid, yet she always calls me stupid.

"What do you mean?" she asked, turning to look at me.

I ignored her questioning stare, I was busy searching for the brightest star in the sky.

"You know... You and I." I said, then I looked at her. "Are you still going to love me even if I was old? Even if I can't walk anymore? Are you still going to be by my side?"

She took my hand and held it tight. "All I can say is I will love you until tomorrow."

"Until tomorrow?" I asked.

If she's going to love me until tomorrow, then... She wouldn't love me the day after that, right?

My eyes started to water by just thinking of this.

I don't want to lose her!

"Lexi, why are you crying?" she asked, sitting up and pulled me in for a much needed hug.

I sobbed at her shirt and said, "You s-said you're g-going to love m-me until t-tomorrow! What would happen the day a-after that? Would you l-leave me?"

"Of course not!" she said. She breaks our embrace and looked at me in the eye, "I told you I would love you until tomorrow. Tell me Lexi, does tomorrow ends?"
