"You're forgiven..."

Monty laid in his tent beside Harper. They weak and sore from those long nights standing guard for their lives. Monty looked at how peaceful Harper looked, how for once he didn't see tears forming in here eyes and the bruises began to fade on her gentle face. He sat up and kissed her forehead before leaving his tent to grab food for the two of them.

On his way back to his tent, he saw Jasper laying on the wet ground staring at the burning fire. Monty hadn't spoken to Jasper since they had successfully destroyed A.L.I.E, and the chip in his brain. What was he supposed to say? Sorry? He wasn't sorry A.L.I.E was fried, she was the reason his mother was dead. He clenched his fist and walked as fast as his body would let him towards his tent.

"Morning..." Monty said opening up the door of the tent to see Harper sitting up smiling with the morning sun in her face. She was thankful to see that Monty brought her food.

"Morning, did you sleep well?" Harper reaches out and pushes her fingers through Monty's hair. Monty shut his eyes tightly. He couldn't tell her that he once again had a restless night.

"I slept fine,..here you need to eat." Monty tossed the bag of rations to her. Harper looked at the food for a second, and downed it as fast as she could. Monty laughs before opening his pack. He realizes that the bags are less then half as full then they usually are. He looks to see that the people who are supposed to be rationing out the food are just sitting around the fire.

"Why are the rationers just sitting there? Isn't there food to be rationed into bags?" he says before eating a handful of berries. Harper drinks the last of the water before looking outside as well.

"I dunno, where is Clarke? Wouldn't she know-" Harper stops as her eyes meet the small, thin, weak creature that once was a great leader. "Never mind....." Monty looks at Harper, then back at the fire... "She hasn't been able to do anything without everyone worrying and doing it for her. They've taken away her independence...She needs to get out and do something."

"Well it does look like we need to go hunting, I could go and talk to her and see if she wants to go, just me and her. It'll only be a few hours..." Harper says as she gets up and dressed in her worn clothing. Monty smiles, "yeah, that'd be a great idea Harper! But look at her! Shes so weak and sad! How are you and her supposed to carry food back for all of us?" Harper looks at Monty confused. "Monty, it was just a suggestion....Is everything alright?" Monty gets up and puts his shoes on, "I'm fine Harper, Ill be back later" He says walking away not looking back to see how hurt Harper looked. They always spent their days together.
