The story is about 17 years old Alexandria Grimes who is trying to find her dad wants the outbreak happens. she is given nicknames from her new family throughout the story.
Alexandria pov* pic of her at top* I was at school when the national guard came on the tv telling everyone a virus was released on accident and that the cdc done it.They were telling people about how if you got scratched or bit you would turn into one. Then the lights went out and everyone was panicking. I snuck out the door and ran to my brothers school. I got out of my pickup and ran into the school were I found my mom Lori, brother Carl, and Shane my dad's best friend. "Alex" my brother yelled and ran to give me a hug. "Alexis" my momma said giving me a hug. And Shane just nodded his head. "We have to get dad". I said to my momma. "No Alexis we have to get out of the city". Shane told me and my mom agreed. I shook my head and said" I will not be leaving my dad here with this out break so you guys are either coming with me or leaving without me". My brother spoke up " I want to go with Alex". I hugged him closer to me. "Fine go and see if your dad is awake we will be right outside the city" my mom spoke to us. Me and Carl ran to Shane's truck and got my brother's backpack and suitcase. And I grabbed Shane's baseball bat. Then we ran to my truck and headed towards our house. When we got there I ran inside and packed my backpack and suitcase with clothes and I grabbed a pair of combat boots and cowgirl boots. Then I met Carl downstairs to which he was stuffing a backpack with canned food. I grabbed a couple of kitchen knives and two of my dad's guns with 4 things of ammo." Are you ready Alex?" My brother asked I nodded and we went back out to my truck I paused and looked at Carl. "What"? He asked. I told him to stay in the truck and I went to the garage and got a tank of gas and my crossbow and arrows.

I left the garage and put the stuff in the back of the truck. Then I got up front " lets go get dad." Carl said smiling at me I smiled back and we drove to the hospital when we got there I saw people in body bags everywhere. "Stay in the truck don't open it for anyone but me". Carl nodded his head I got out of the truck locked the doors got my crossbow and a gun and headed towards the entrance. When I got inside I headed straight for my dad's room when I got there I didn't see him. I looked in the hospital for awhile but didn't see my dad so I went to the medicine infirmary and got some including stuff for cuts and stitches. Then I ran outside to the truck and told Carl to let me in. He nodded his head but when he didn't see dad he started crying. I put the supplies in the truck and told my brother we had to head to the city to get to mom and Shane he nodded his head.Then I started the truck and headed towards the city. When we got there I saw a guy on a horse he must of heard us because he turned around when Carl and I saw his face we ran to him screaming dad with tears down our face he hugged us got his stuff off the horse and puts his things in the truck. After that we see people running so I honk the horn they look at us and I motion them over. "Hope in the back I see walkers up a head." They nodded and thanked us. When we got away from the walkers the people started to direct us to their camp when we got to the camp I ran to my mom. And so did Carl and dad. People started to introduce themselves there was Carol, Sophia, Merle, Andrea, Amy, Dale, and some guy named Daryl who was off hunting he was Merles brother. When everyone got ready to go to sleep I had no where to stay. "Hay sweetheart you can stay in mine and Daryls tent". Merle said I nodded and told him thanks. I woke up in the morning to Merle getting up." Go back to sleep sweetheart I am going to go get my brother". I nodded my head and slowly drifting back off then a hour or two later I am awoken by yelling. "You just opened our tent out to a stranger what the hell man"! I guessing Daryl yelled. Merle spoke back by saying " at least meet her she saved my life." She smiled at what Merle said. Then the tent began to unzip. "Rise and shine sweetheart". I heard Merle say. I looked at him and he motioned for his brother to come in. When he did I was stunned because I mean dame he was fine. "Hi I'm Alexandria but I have all sorts of nicknames". I told Daryl.
