Bailey smiles at me and cuddles closer to me. We just lay in my bed cuddling until my stupid phone rings and ruins the moment. I pick it up and don't even look at the caller id. "Hello?" I ask in a monotone. "What's up sexy?" His voice fills my ears. I take in a deep breath and hang up. How did he get my new number? When did he get my new number? I get a text message from him two seconds later. I put his name in as The One Who Failed

I throw my phone down and put it on do not disturb. When I turn back to cuddle with Bailey but she kisses me. It takes me a moment to respond but before I can she pulls away. "Hey Bails come back here." I whisper to her as I pull her closer. She giggles as I pepper her face with kisses. She is going to be mine in time. I will ask her soon. I promise. She is just a friend that I like.
"How late were you guys up?" Brad asks as we walk to a pancake house. "I think it was like 12." Bailey says as we cuddle closer. The snow had continued to fall through out the days and the temperature had dropped by a ton. "I thought so. I heard you guys fall down the stairs." He says looking at us. "Sorry. It was hard when your legs are numb. Wait a second where is Calvin and Zack?" I tell him. "Zack had to go home so Calvin went with him." Brad say looking at me as if I should already know this. "Oh. Ok. When will he be back I have to take him to meet someone?" I ask Brad as he holds the diner door open. "He said maybe Thursday or Friday because Zack is going to he beach with his family to warm up and Calvin was invited." Brad tells me as we take the booth farthest away from the door. Bailey sits beside me and smiles as at me at me as kiss her check. I remove her jacket and she removes mine as Brad orders our brunch. "When are you planing on telling dad where we now live Bailey?" Brad asks. That's right their dad is coming home. "Ummm...I thought you were going to..." Bailey was stopped by the bell at the front going off. We are the only people in here other than the workers. We look at the man dressed in an army get up walk to the bar. "Hey Marge! I'm back!" He shout to the window. Bailey looks at Brad with tear filled eyes. "It can be..." Brad whispers as a lady walks out from behind the kitchen window. She smiles and hugs the man in the army suit. "Welcome back Officer Charm." She smiles. Bailey puts her head in the space between neck and shoulder and silently screams. Marge looks at us and smiles. I put my finger against my lips to tell her to keep quiet. Brad has his hands over his mouth tries to keep quiet as his father orders while Bailey continues to scream into my neck. "Hey Marge, have you seen Bailey and Brad? I stopped by the house but they weren't there. I really want to surprise them. I just got back and want to see them." Their father asks the waiter. "Yeah. They are closer than you think." She smiles look at him. Bailey looks up and Brad dropped his hands. "Where are they?" Their father asked with a mouth full of bacon. Bailey and Brad get up slowly get up and tiptoe to their father. They count off with their hands and jump on their father shouting, "Dad!" "My babies! Oh am I glad to see you!" He shouts hugging them and kissing their foreheads. I feel so left out by this but I keep my mouth shut. Their father looks up at me and let's go of his kids. "Who is the nice young lady that is looking lonely as heck?" He asks looking at Bailey with an explain to me look. "That is Ray. She is my friend. She is providing us somewhere to stay because ummm...the house you went to is being taken from us because momma took it from us." Bailey says. "Hello Ray. I am Officer Cameron Charm. Thank you for looking after my beautiful children. I owe you big time. They are a handful." Officer Cameron Charm says shaking my hand. "It was no problem. They are like family now. You don't owe me anything. I did it because they showed me kindness and I needed some peoples to stay with me." I say to him. Officer Charm pulls me in a hug and hugs me hard. "I owe you a ton darling. You helped out my children." He says. I pull away and look at Bailey who is crying into Brad's shoulder. I rush over to her and try to comfort her. "What is wrong baby girl?" I ask her pulling her close. She continues to cry into my shoulder. "It is going to be alright. You are going to be ok. Tell me what's wrong. I will fix it." I whisper. Brad walks his dad to the bar as I pull Bailey to the booth. "Triggers everywhere...need to get purse...anxiety attack!" She says pull for her purse. I hand it to her and she pulls out an orange container of pills. She takes two of them and slowly relaxes. "Long story short hugging my father brought back memories of my abusive mother for some reason." Bailey whispers. I just pull her closer and sing her a comforting song. "My little sunshine My only sunshine You make me happy when sky's gray You'll never know dear How much I love you So please don't take my sunshine away." I sing slowly rocking her to help her remove the rest of the bad thoughts running through her head.
