Birdsong woke me and I sat up carefully. I looked around and saw the early morning sun shine through the window. It knocked on the door.
"Come in" I said.
Miyuki came inside with a big smile and her phone ready.
"Are you ready for the last day of the culture festival?" She asked and sat down on on the side of the bed.
I nodded and Miyuki smiled brighter.
"Well then get ready then we don't want to be late" She said and went towards the wardrobe.
I nodded to myself and smiled. It was unbelievable that it had already been two weeks since I had been appointed to take care of the culture festival. We were already two days in and today was the third and last day. I was apprehensive for the speech this evening but I'm sure it will be okay. Well I hope at least.
"Aiko-sama hurry up!" Miyuki said from the closet
"Yes, yes I will" I said and went inside the bathroom.
I walked inside the shower and turned it on. The hot water sprayed me and I sighed with happiness. This shower sure is nice, it's better than the one I have at home. I finished and then stood in front of the mirror. My reflection looked back at me while I dried my hair so i could brush it. I brushed my hair and took on a bathrobe. The door opened and Miyuki urged me to hurry. I followed her out and sat down on the chair to the vanity table.
"I've laid out three outfits for you today" She said and gestured to the laid out clothes on my bed.
Todays choices was a light pink yukata with a white obi, a pink blazer with a white blouse and white pants and lastly a white flowery dress which was down to the knees.
"Can I really wear a yukata on a school festival?" I asked remembering my own festivals.
"I think it can really make an impression on everyone" Miyuki said. "You are from Japan and I think you should show it to your people."
"Maybe I can wear it tonight to the speech?"
"That would be alright. We can leave it in the principals office so it doesn't wrinkle."
"That would be great."
"So what do you want to wear then?"
"I want to wear the pink blazer with the blouse and pants."
Miyuki nodded and took away the other things. I took on the outfit I had chosen and sat down on the chair again. Miyuki came back and hung up a clothing cover on the door before she came up to me.
"How would you like you hair?" She asked and looked at our reflection while she hung on my shoulders lightly.
I smiled at our reflections and leaned a bit against her.
"Make me a bun" I said.
"Then I will do that."
She smiled and started to do her wonders. Soon she was done and put on the last touch; a pink flower. I smiled and rose. It knocked on the door and then a maid came inside with a trolley. She put the breakfast tray on the table and then bowed before she left.
"I hope it's alright that I'm eating with you" Miyuki said with a sheepish smile.
"Yes of course" I said and sat down.
Miyuki sat down in front of me and I smiled. It's lovely not being alone all the time. Todays breakfast was sandwiches and chocolate milk. I started to eat and enjoyed every bite. It was so good. I hadn't have chocolate milk since I was a little girl. Dad had taking it with him from one of his business trips and after that we were so obsessed that dad had to mail the company on the other side on earth for the recipe. They even gave it to him. I giggled at the memory and Miyuki gave me a wondering look.
