Ryan's POV
I hear my phone buzz and walk over to my dresser and pick up my iPhone. I click the messages app to see the boy's texting me.
MESSAGES
Mark - Hey man, we're outside waiting for you with the van. You ready yet?
Me - Yeah man, be right out
John - Well hurry up man the other guys are waiting for us
I lock my phone.
"Mom, my friends are here" Me
"Okay Ryan, you can go, just-" My Mom
"Be careful Yeah Yeah Yeah I know" Me
Always the same thing. 'Sweety be careful' 'Sweety don't get hurt' 'Ryan be more careful'.
"AYE!!" The boys yell when they see me
"Hey what took you so long!!" Austin says as he throws open the door. We do our basic handshake. Right hand, left hand, fist bump, chest bump. I climb in the car and explain.
"My mom was beating on me again. 'Just be careful' " I say in a high pitched mocking voice.
"Moms these days right!!" I say.
"AYE" The boys echo back. That's kind of our thing.
Mark drives us down to Drew's where everyone else was waiting for us. When we arrive we get the usual.
"AYE!!!" from all the boys there. I say hi to everyone there (which between you and me took long because I'm KIND of popular)!!!!! We all head over to the snack table and start munching on the Doritos, Cheetos, Chips, and Candy. We had about 2 or 3 minutes to stuff our stomachs with junk until the Haunted House opened
"Hey!!! Ryan!!" I see Mason walk toward me.
"Its time to go!!!" He says..Don't ask me why he told me and not Max, he's the one with the van; or Drew, this is his house. Its just, most of the guys are the MOST comfortable around me.
"Hey!!! Mark!!! Time!!!" I mouth as i point to my wrist signifying a watch. He gives me a thumbs up and shouts.
"Everybody in the van" A group of 9 (surprisingly REALLY loud) boys rushes out the door and piles into the van.
"Hey!!" I feel someone slap me in the back and turn around.
"AYE!!" I say when I see Justin. Hes very physical.. He doesn't realize how strong he is. But that's okay. I punch him in the arm.
"So whats up man?" I say
"Nothing, whats chilling with you????" He says like a surfer dude haha. Hes impersonating this guy in our group named max. He moved here from Hawaii and he hasn't been able to make many friends, so, being my generous self, I took him in and decided him I would show him the rules of the school.
We arrive at the Haunted House and we all get out of the van. We walk start walk through. Me, being the bravest, goes in first. In fact this isn't scary at all, its actual pretty cool. All hanging spiders and fake mummy statues. Some of the guys are freaked out, not me. We finally reach the end of the Haunted House and we walk out. All of a sudden a man aged about mid-20s pounces out from the shadows. Max looks like he almost peed his pants, so do some of the other guys. The rest of us our laughing SO hard.
"Dude, your face was hilarious!!" I say to Max knowing he wouldn't freak out on me to much.
"Woahhhh!" He says as he shakes his head back and forth. We walk a little further from the fake zombie when suddenly it doesn't seem so fake anymore. It starts staring us down, it groans and starts running after us. I laugh because I know they aren't real, this only happens in movies and video games.
"Hmm, that's weird, never seen those hear before." Drew says, he lives just a couple blocks away, he would know.
"Yeah, looks like these guys really stepped their game out, dressing their employees up to scare us, even on the way OUT!!" Justin says as he slaps my back again. Gosh is he violent. The zombie starts up his run, er, limp and Max has FINALLY had enough.
"Dude!! Stop chasing us, its getting old." We all laugh. Wow. He must be really scared. We turn around to see the zombie staring Max down, he groans again, then attacks. He bites Max's neck as we all realize this is real.
