Angelica- true and pure intentions
~Luna~
"Why don't you just kill me?"
"You know why."
"We both know that's not true."
Adrian looked at me with conflicting emotions. He was probably wondering how much I had figured out. To bad all the peices had clicked together.
"After all, I'm just a pathetic human." I whispered. He had used a similar explanation when he was telling me why he wasn't affected when he drained my blood. All his anger seemed to drain out of him and he took on an impenetrable mask of emotionlessness.
I blinked and he pulled the same super speed move as when I had first fought him. He slammed me against the wall, pinning my arms to my side.
"Of course even if you decided to kill me, I wouldn't go easily." I whispered in his ear. I tensed as he moved his head to my bared neck, but instead of sinking his fangs into my flesh he just rested his head on my shoulder. I stood in shock at Adrian's unexpected vulnerability.
We stood there for several moments as Adrian composed himself. I was worried about the rawness my question had inspired.
Finally Adrian spoke.
"A ball is being held in this mansion soon. If any of them see you, questions will be asked and I can't afford questions.""Its fine, I'll behave." I said regaing my composure. I had never been in a situation like this with any type of monster. I had never agreed to do anything for a monster.
Adrian escorted me to my room.
"Look Luna," he started. I looked at him expectantly."Its not that I trust you or anything, but..." With that he pulled out one of my blades. I stood there, unable to respond. He reached out gently and grabbed my hand, turning it palm up and laying the blade in it. I turned and cradled it.

"Ne, Luna!" A familiar and welcome voice called out behind me. I turned around, smiling at the familiar figure rushing to catch up to me.
"Yes Kira?" I responded. Kira wasn't her real name, but no one knew her real name so we just accepted the name she chose for herself. No one knew anyones real name at the Institute. She chose her name based on the Japanese word for 'kill'.
"I got a suprise for you!" She was so enthusiastic. Big smiles which hid her dark past. There weren't many female Hunters at the Institute so Kira and I had bonded early in our training.
"Do I even want to know?" I asked while rolling my eyes. "Yes you do."
I laughed as she towed me to the dorms. "Close your eyes!" She commanded and I complied. I felt her press something into my hands and my eyes shot open. I was holding an ebony box. I gasped at the beautifully designed box.
"Open it." She coaxed. Catiously, as though the slightest touch would destroy the beauty of the box, I opened it. Inside the box lay two of the finest blades I'd ever seen.
~~~
"Luna?"
I snapped out of my thoughts. I touched my cheek feeling that it was wet. I had been crying?
"Oh um, thanks." I said distractedly.
"Just remember to stay in the room." He said, before leaving.
I think he only gave me my blade back because he knew deep down that I wouldn't be able to keep my word. I honestly meant to, but I never expected the events that happened. It was half way into his ball when my stomach started growling. I knew Adrian would be to busy to bring me food and I was tired of listening the loud piano music through my walls.
It was then I heard a voice I never thought I would hear again.
"Kira?" I whispered, not believing that she was really there. But then I heard her voice louder.
"Luna? Luna were are you?" I heard her opening the door across the corridor. I rushed to my door and jiggled with the handle. It was locked. I wasn't very suprised, I knew Adrian didn't trust me as much as I didn't trust him. What Adrian didn't realise was that my blade could cut through almost anything. I ran the blade down the side of the door, feeling the slight resistance as I sliced through the lock.
As the door swung open I whispered "Kira." again.
She was standing in front of me with her mouth open.
"Luna, you're alive!"
"Why are you here? Are you real?"
"What happened to you Luna? Of course I'm real."
I lurched forward and wrapped my arms around my shocked friend. This was the most emotion I had ever shown her.
Adrian chose that moment to arrive to check on me. When I saw him, I pushed Kira behind me and angled my blade towards my neck. If he attacked her the it would be quickest way to end him. Kira's eyes narrowed and Adrian's eyes flashed with an emotion I couldn't figure out. Betrayel?
In a flash Kira had drawn her katana and rushed at Adrian.
"Stop Kira!" I shouted. But she was in kill mode, I wouldn't be able to stop her. Adrian was still standing still.
"Luna..." He gasped when Kira ran her sword through him.
"How dare you bite my Luna!" She screamed. She didn't notice when I fell forwards, but she heard my scream of pain. Gasping I tried to crawl forwards to reach Adrian. When I reached him, I practically collapsed on top of him. I clutched at my chest, feeling as the life drained out of both of us.
I clumsily fumbled with my knife before managing to drag it across my wrist. As the blood dripped down my wrist I pulled Adrian's head onto my lap and allowed the blood to fall onto his lips. Kira stood in shock when I allowed Adrian to grab my wrist and bite down.
For some reason I trusted him to not drain all the blood in my body. I trusted him to not kill me.
"Don't kill her." I whispered to Adrian. I wasn't sure if he had heard me but I couldn't stop myself from slipping into unconciousness.
