Black rose- magic, beauty, death

~Kira~

I was pissed. That is the only expression I could think of that accurately described the swirl of emotions that raged inside me. Absolutely and utterly pissed.

I would have been able to handle my anger if it had just been the fact I'd been chained up in a dungeon. That was a common job hazard and I could've escaped eventually. No, what pissed me off was the fact I couldn't kill the bastard.

I had realised something was wrong when Luna had cried out in pain when my katana had sliced that vile monster. I had realised, but had still been shocked when Luna- the Dark Blade- had offered that creepy red eyed bastard her blood.

My Luna would kill herself before offering anything to a leech. I sighed. The blood rush in my head was not helping to distract my violent thoughts. I was sitting upside down on a chair. My legs draped over the top and my hair pooling around my head on the floor.

I had picked out a book, something about a princess who fell asleep and her prince wasn't able to find her in time. I had gotten bored of the story and so the book lay open, cover up, on my stomach. I felt bad for leaving Luna, but I still needed time to process and understand. Every time she looked or talked to Adrian there was something in her eyes that I couldn't quite place. Something less then her usual rage and happiness.

I must've been thinking very hard, because I didn't notice the dark figure that had entered the library until his voice startled me out of my contemplation.

"It seems Addy found himself a few new pets." I jumped at the sound of his voice.

His voice was like mahogany and came out in a deep pur. Startled, I looked up at the figure. He had a predatory gleam that seemed to call to my perverse desires. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of blood as I gazed into his one visible eye.

"I'm not a pet." I grumbled. The blood rushing to my head was preventing me from acknowledging the dangerous aura permeating from the stranger.

"No?" He asked, "Then I don't think he'd mind me keeping you instead."

I didn't appreciate the insinuation behind his words. I growled at him tensing my muscles to move from my awkward position. Before I could move, the stranger had flashed in front of me, his body crouched and his eyes in level with mine.

I so desperately wanted to move the hair away from his other eye. Just a slight brush would be all it took. Instead I narrowed my eyes at him, snarling.

This seemed to annoy him because he grabbed my neck and gave me a devastatingly cruel smile.

"Oh aren't you just feisty." He taunted.

That was it. That was my absolute last straw. That was when I decided to put all my years worth of training into practice. Quickly, expertly, I tensed my muscles and performed an acrobatic skill that would put most gymnasts to shame. I managed to get from my upside down possition on the library chair to a crouched position with my arm wrapped around the stranger's neck.

"I am not feisty!" I growled loudly, "I just don't like pressumptious asses like you."

His reaction infuriated me even more. Instead of admitting defeat like a good little monster, he laughed at me!

"I like you." He said in that deep voice of his with a smirk plastered onto his lips. "My name is Ryan."

"Well I cannot say it was a pleasure... Ryan." I drew his name out in a long and mocking drawl. "Now would you please leave before I seperated your head from your neck."

I released my grip from around his neck and stalked away from the dark stranger.

"Now, now." He whispered into my ear after grabbing my hand. "Don't be rude, little pet."

I attempted to jerk away from him but only succeeded in moving closer to the wall effectively trapping myself. Disgust and scorn took of my features when he moved his head closer to my ear.

"You still haven't told me your name." He whispers, sending shivers shooting down my spine.

"For a good reason." I whisper back, a sudden boldness taking over. I thought, if my plan back fired, I would blame it on the headrush I currently had. Although, whether the headrush was from being upside down for so long or from Ryan's close proximity, was another story.

I pressed my body closer to his, suprising him with my audacity. My lips were right by his ear as I whispered, "Allow me to introduce you to a self-defense against all creatures of the male species."

His eyes widened in suprise as I jerked my knee straight up, right between his legs. He let out a loud howl of pain, falling to his knees before me.

"I call it... The nutcracker." I felt smug standing over the pained and inferior person who had forced me into a compromising position.

"Be grateful that I'm merciful... Ryan."

With that I turned around and marched away. My mood was incredibly fowl and Ryan had not improved it in the slightest. He was lucky that Adrian still had my katana or else he would be sushi sized slices littering the floor.

I decided to go deeper into the library in the hopes of finding a more interesting read then the one I had discarded when Ryan had chosen to entertain me with his presence. I scanned the shelves. Adrian's library was impressive to say the least.

I scanned the shelves. I was in the botony section and coming close to the wall that signaled the end of the room. I trailed my fingers along the spines of the books. Medicinal herbs, gardening madicinal plants techniques, flowers 101, application of magical flowers.

Every type of botony book you could imagine.

I was so enthralled that I didn't notice the presence behind me until I was slammed into the wall at the end of the library. Black spots coated my vision and I was unable to move because of the body pressed against me, restraining my hands.

"Well, little pet." His voice tickled the back of my neck. "Look who's in charge now." He said as his fangs descended on my bare neck.

Just then I heard Luna call, "Kira! Kira are you still here?"

Ryan laughed, his chuckles reverberating causing his fangs to rip deeper into my neck. It seems like he found out my name after all...
