My happiness was what killed me. I believed in stuff that weren’t worth believing in. I turned mute. Some could say I even gave up living. That is, until he came along.

My name is Kumi Sorato. When I was small I had this one friend called Sora Minagawa. He was clumsy, had thick glasses and looked like a geek. “If he could be given a number for his attractiveness,” Rika said once, “I would give him a zero, through and through.”

But he was the next heir to the Minagawa group, a hotel management business in Japan, which could mislead many people to think that he was a typical rich boy. His character, however, showed that he couldn’t care less about that. So my classmates actually believed that I had befriended him for that sole reason.

Well, they were wrong.

Sora was funny and he was a great friend. We loved each other like siblings would. But it took me a while to realize I was starting to like him.

Time passed by, he left and I started to forget him. Besides, I haven’t heard anything from him since kindergarten. I went to Mori Gakuen, one of the most prestigious high schools in Japan. It cost my parents a fortune to enroll me there. And then, something miraculous happened.
