A Step Forward

You walk down a grey sidwalk. It's a nice sidewalk. Newly built, the concrete is smooth and flawless. If concrete could look like water, this was it - grey water. Look up. Stop looking down at the damn concrete would you? You're missing the world all around you. I get you're afraid you might fall and get hurt, but hey, life is full of pain. It's temporary. The view however, is not. This is the only moment in your entire life that you'll get to see that very cloud in the pure blue sky above you. Or that dendelion weed next to your ankle. Or- there!- the brown squirrel that just ran past you. Enjoy these little things - yes even that creepy squirrel. Enjoy them because the moment you see them, they become a part of you. Just as you become a part of their universe. Smell the air. You may not notice but it smells different each breath.

On that note, I may start writing a story 😨
