"Where's Destiny?" Olivia asked the next morning, sitting down in mess hall, with Sophia, Derek, and Antonio.
"How should we know?" Sophia lied.
"Hey, she's right. Something might have happened." Derek said. I wish I could have seen the look on Sophia's face when she saw his face with concern for me. Sam walked by.
"Hi, happy campers! Where's Destiny? Washrooms?" she asked with a big smile. Olivia shook her head, then Sam smile fell off her face.
"Where is she?" Sam asked. Sophia, Derek, Antonio, and Olivia said 'I don't know' or shrugged.
Antonio said, "Let's check the room." and started picking up his finished lunch. My other friends started picking up their lunch too. Sophia followed.
They started search through the cabin.
"Hey, look over here!" Olivia exclaimed. She picked up a white stick with light purple jewels and light blue wooden carving of a root. My wand.
"Where did you find it?" Sam asked.
"Under the bed."
"She must have dropped it! What if she's in danger?" Sam exclaimed searching my bed, "Check this out." She held up a piece of paper with holes in it.
"What is that?" Sophia asked.
"Braille!" Olivia answered. "Me and Destiny studied Braille in the library." Olivia closed her eyes feeling the holes on the paper.
"It says: I can't take it. I left for the forest." Olivia quoted from the paper. "She's in the forest."
Sam slowly sat down, her hand on her forehead.
"They aren't any normal woods."
I sat down on a tree stump, opening my bag to find my granola bar.
One left. I thought. I'll use my magic to make more.
I started searching through my bag.
Oh no... I dumped my bag contents out. "I can't believe it!" I screamed. I snapped my head around. "Who's there?"
I picked up my stuff, and started to head off. I had no idea whether I was going deeper in the woods or near the edge to the camp. I saw sparkling specks of dust on a thin trail. The dust smelled even stronger than Gwendolyn's secret room. I heard light giggling and then I saw fairies. The fairies started talking in a soft, high-pitched voice.
"Follow us, Diana. Someone needs to talk to you." they chanted, as they flew away. I followed.
"Welcome to the heart of the forest, Diana."
I saw a willow tree. It didn't look like any old willow tree. Near the top a pinkish-purplish mist the bottom had white mist. In the tree there was an hole. It was shaped perfectly for a locket to fit. A locket! I ripped off my locket, then fixed it into the indent.
"Hello, Diana."
"AHHHH!" I jumped almost a foot in the air. Then I thought, I afraid of a talking tree? I’m being tracked down by a witch!
"What are you?" I asked.
"I'm the questions and answers."
'' I can ask you any questions?"
"Any."
"What am I? What is happening? And what is the truth?"
"You know the answer, Diana. You know."
