*Esme Cullen*
It has been 3 weeks. Jack says that New York is getting better but it's still roaming around with nightmares. Not as more as there were before. Bella has been very safe here since nothing has happened anywhere near the area.
Bella is right now sitting down on the floor and doing her school work on the coffee table. Everything has been calm and on the news they only give small reports about New York. The nightmares and fear still go around but not as much. Carlisle had bought a newspaper in case of anything and stored it in a box with other newspapers from the past.
We like to keep newspapers from the past just for reminder, memory, or anything important. Edward has one of the Spanish influenza from 65 years ago. It is stored away and he doesn't want to get rid of it.
I sat with Bella as she did her addition and she was doing fine. There were of course one or two that were wrong so I kneeled down and helped her with them. Right now, it was only me and Bella home, Carlisle was at the hospital and the kids were out hunting and when they come back Carlisle and I will go during the night.
Bella and I spent the rest of the day working on her additions and subtraction. That was when the kids came home and they were acting normal. Edward came and sat next to Bella and kissed her forehead.
"How is the most beautiful little sister?" Edward asked and she smiled at him and looked at her paper.
"Math, huh? Yeah, I know. Not my favorite subject either." Edward said and chuckled with her.
"I prefer literature." Edward said to her and Bella nodded. I chuckled at how they were so alike.
"Mom, me and Rose think Bella needs a room change." Alice said to me and Bella looked at her and made a face at her words but didn't say anything.
"And why is that, Alice?" I asked her and she smiled.
"The last time we gave Bella's room a makeover was when we first came here to Colorado, we literally haven't changed anything but her bed, some of her toys, and her clothes." Alice said and pouted. I turned to Bella and she looked at Alice.
"But I get to choose some things?" Bella asked her and Alice sighed in defeat and nodded.
"Alright then." I said to her and she squeeled. Of course, I'm sure she knew my answer already.

I quickly went upstairs to Bella's room and saw that the paint was getting old. It was still the reddish pinkish wine color I chose 4 years ago. "Blue is more of her color, you know. Or purple." Edward said from the doorway.
"You really love her in blue, don't you?" I said smiling and rolled my eyes.
"Well, she looks good in it and around it. Why do you want to do a room makeover in a time like this? He's still out there, Alice." Edward said serious and I looked at him.
"Bella doesn't know that. What do you want me to do? Do you want to have everyone start acting protective and weird around her that she finds out? Or that he find out? Edward, she might be young, but she isn't dumb. I thought that a makeover would distract her and us. Besides, her room needs it." I said and looked back at the room. I could leave the bed there and just change the sheets and throw the other ones away.
"Fine." Edward said and I knew he didn't say anything else because Bella was coming. She entered the room and looked at me. She had a piece of paper in her hand and walked to her drawer and put it inside. I knew too well it was her addition and subtraction paper she just finished.
"Yeah, we need to get somewhere new to put them." I said to myself. I imagined the color of the room in purple and it looked nice, but I figured Bella wouldnt want it.
