Remus was laying on the couch in the Gryffindor common room, quietly staring into the fireplace. He sighed and rose to his feet, when something he dreaded happened. His long time crush, Sirius Black, the ultimate lady charmer, totally not gay, handsome boy appeared through the doorway. His breath hitched and he wished with all his might the Sirius didn't notice, but of course he did.
"What's wrong Moony?" he quizzed. "You seem on edge."
"Oh nothing, you just scared me. I'm okay." he answered. Sirius nodded, but was still confused as to why Remus was behaving so strangely."I know you aren't okay. What happened?" Sirius said in a serious tone. "Snivellus messing with you again? I'll teach him another lesson, no questions asked."
"Well, actually, yes. You know that I'm not very sure about my sexuality and I'm glad you still decided to be my friend afterwards. But he..." Remus took a shaky breath. "He's not as accepting. He's going around calling me the awful word that used to mean cigarette and telling every boy that I'm planning on trying it on with them. I'm sick of it Pads. I'm starting to believe his lies, he's driving them into my brain without stopping. I know I shouldn't believe him but something is telling me it's true." he confessed to his shaggy haired best friend.
"Well Moons, I'm gonna let you in on a secret. you better not tell anyone, or I'll do something." he chuckled. "But I'm gay. I've known for a while, but buried it deep within me for a long time, finding every opportunity to deny it; but in the end, it's alright. I'm learning to accept it." His voice changed to sound like a gallant knight from a British kingdom. "One may even dare say, I even have grown ever so keen to a boy in this very castle." He paused for a second, laughing to himself and his voice went back to normal. "I know this is a strange time to confess this but I thought it might make you feel better."
"Well it did, you dork." Remus poked him lightly on his arm. He felt a spark coarse through his veins at the mere touch of his smooth, pale skin.
"You mentioned something of having a crush, did you not? I bet it's James." Remus said with a hint of disappointment.
"No, no. Close, though I must say." he responded.
"Who then?" he asked.
"Maybe this will answer your question."
Sirius leaned in and connected his lips with Remus's. Fireworks exploded in his stomach and his heart did a flip in his chest. Sirius's lips tasted of mint and sugar, which became his favorite flavors from then on.
Sirius was the first one to pull away. "I- um..." Remus stuttered.
"No need to talk, love. I've seen the way you've been looking at me, staring at me when you thought i wasn't paying you attention. It's okay, I totally understand. You should never be afraid to be honest with me, because you never know what I might do." He pecked Remus on the lips again, sending shockwaves through Remus's body once more. "Keeping things inside and worrying isn't good for your emotional health." Sirius stated with a wink.
"I'm sorry Sirius..."
A noise came from the entrance and startled them, causing both boys to break away from each other's gaze and look at what, or who, was making the noise. James stood like a deer in the headlights of a car.
"How long have you been standing there?" Sirius whisper yelled to James. "Long enough to see you two having a cheeky snog on my favorite couch in the castle. Now I've gotta get all the bromance off of it." James tossed his head back and laughed like a hyena at his own joke, causing Remus to roll his eyes and Sirius's face to go as red as a cherry.
However, Sirius kept a stoic face as James called while running up the stairs, "Peter! You owe me five galleons!" Remus thought Sirius was acting a bit too cool, seeing what had just happened.
"Did you plan this?" The words fell out of his mouth before he could even think of the possible outcome. "Oh goodness, I'm sorry if that sounded-"
Sirius cut him off.
"I did actually. I knew you'd be in here, and I've been wanting to tell you for a long time, and this seemed like the best opportunity I'd get." Sirius shifted in his seat to where his body was facing Remus, making the werewolf's stomach churn in anticipation of what was coming next. "I knew I liked you from the moment I met you. Jeez, you were basically what made me realize that I like boys."
Now it was Remus's turn to go red. Courage overtook his mind, and he grabbed Sirius's hand and twisted their fingers together.
Remus figured his face was going to get stuck in a smile because he just couldn't stop. He loved this delinquent, and he loved him more than he thought possible.
