*continuation of part 6, remus's pov*

Remus sat in his room. Alone. He hadn't been alone in what felt like years because Sirius was always directly beside him. Even at the worst moments in the month, Sirius was with him as a dog and he loved him so much for that. He hadn't cried in a few months either. The last time was only because he had finished his favourite book series. Remus moved slowly, sliding from the bed to the floor underneath his feet. His knees met his chin and he hugged his legs close, staring at Sirius's leather jacket that hung on the hook next to the door. The black leather seemed to be calling his name louder and louder the longer he stared at it. He eventually gave in and stood up to retrieve it. A knot formed in his stomach the moment he stood up and with each passing step it drew into itself a little bit more. He took small steps, taking in every detail of every tear and fold in the fabric, remembering how the coat clung to Sirius's body and how good he looked wearing it. His fingers touched the cold cloth and his hand was hesitant to take it down from its spot, like if he moved it at all it would crumble into dust and disappear. Remus took it down from the hook and the knot in his stomach tightened until he felt he might throw up. He walked hastily back to his bed and took the jacket in both hands, throwing it around himself to imitate the warmth Sirius used to give him. With the scent of the boy floating all around him, the knot unraveled itself in the form of sobs coming from Remus. He buried his face in one of the sleeves and stayed there for who knows how long. All of the sudden, his phone pings on the bed beside him. He sniffles and brings it up so he can read it. His heart sank as he read a text from James. "Are you okay? I just came down to the shore with Lily for a walk and found Sirius crying and laying in the water. What happened with him?" Remus read the text over and over until he thought of a reply for his friend. "I don't know what happened. Leave him be though, I guess." He typed it out, hit send, and threw his phone across the room, shoving his face back into Sirius's jacket afterwards. He stared at the most likely broken phone laying on the floor and wondered if he should go check on Sirius. Without a second thought, he laid Sirius's jacket on the bed beside him, pulled on his shoes and got his phone, then started the walk down to the coast.
