(angst bc im in that mood)

Do not imagine Remus seeing Bellatrix and Sirius battling in the Department of Mysteries. Do not imagine Sirius ducking away, barely escaping the red burst from Bellatrix's wand. Do not imagine Sirius standing there yelling at her, "Ha! Gotta do better than that!" Do not imagine his smiling face, laughing exaggeratedly as he shot at Bellatrix once more. Do not imagine him being hit by the stream of green coming from her wand as she yelled "Avada Kedavra!" Do not imagine the smile quickly fading from his face, replaced by pure shock and agony. Do not imagine him falling backwards into the Veil, slipping away before everyone's eyes. Do not imagine Remus letting out silent pleas for him to just fall through the other side, ready to jump at his cousin once more. Do not imagine Remus rushing to Harry's side, desperately trying to prevent him from following his godfather's footsteps. Do not imagine after Harry breaking free from Remus's grasp, running right up to the Veil and falling to his knees. Do not imagine a defeated Remus looking on to Harry, wondering what he must feel. Remus didn't just lose a best friend, he lost his potential husband in the future. Harry lost a godfather, his only family left. It was at that moment, the Veil was the most appealing thing in the room to him, every fiber in his body screaming to go after the love of his life; but standing star struck in his tracks, pleading for him to just come back so he could at least say goodbye.
