The car's taking me to Mayfair, or, more specifically, the Heaven's Empire headquarters. As we pull up outside the huge white building I remember the first time I arrived here.
I'd been noticed at the age of just sixteen in the street. A woman with loosely waved black hair and the most perfectly crafted face I have ever seen strode past me, her eyes lingering on my face. Before I knew why she had her arm at my back, guiding me out of the crowd towards the nearest building.
"Which agency do you work for?" She asked bluntly, her slanted green eyes narrowing.
"I'm sorry, I think you've mistaken me for someone else-" I started to say, but she cut me off.
"I know you don't recognise me, don't look so panicked. I just what to know who you've signed with."
"I don't understand. I think I ought to go-"
"Look, my name's Kensa L'Hore. I'm the CEO of Heaven's Empire, and if you've got five minutes, I'd like to offer you a job."
And that was how it started.
First she had taken me to the Mayfair headquarters of Heaven's Empire. I remember stepping out of the chauffeur-driven car that had brought us, staring at the grand, white building before me. Located in one of the most prestigious neighbourhoods in London, the imposingly beautiful building was set back from the street, surrounded by ornate iron railings.
Kensa walked quickly up to the huge double doors. I couldn't help but admire the graceful way she seemed to glide up the steps, touching her finger to the button next to the gold panel that read 'Heaven's Empire' in elegant, sloping letters. The huge doors opened and I followed her in the lobby, past the front desk, the security guard on which nodded to Kensa. She showed the way up a huge, curving staircase to an office on the top floor.
Immaculate, modern and monochromatic, it was where she had pushed a stack of contracts across the table to me, saying: "Call me back in when you want to sign."
So I had sat in the office, leafing through page after page of terms of my employment. The contract was a little lengthy to say the least.
