Bloom walked alone down the road that led from the schoolhouse to her house. She had two friends: Andy and Selina. Andy was never free to do anything but write songs, or practice those songs with his band, or perform those songs with his band on Saturdays, and Selina had these weird dreams about stories coming to life.

Suddenly, a tall, pretty, fashionable girl with long black hair, black eyes, and triangular, dark blue glasses walked up. Mitzi. Today, she was wearing a green-and-yellow striped tank top, yellow jeans that flared out at her ankles, and green high-heeled boots.

"Hey, Bloom! What's going on today? Oh wait! You always say 'Same as usual,' so I guess there's no point in asking!" she said with a sneer.

"Go away, Mitzi."

"Oh come on! I'm your very best friend!"

"Not."

"Ugh! Well, you are annoying as usual, so bye!" she smirked, walked away with Darma and Sally, her two friends/followers.

At home, her parents cheered her up again, just simply by being themselves.

"Bloom! How was today?" her mother asked, chopping up some vegetables in the kitchen.

"Normal. I ran into Mitzi on the way home," she said.

"Oh. Well, you can't do much about that. Did she bother you too much?" She stopped chopping to look up at Bloom, but Bloom's father interrupted.

"Bloom! You need to stand up to her! Tell her you're the boss of you, not her!" he exclaimed angrily.

"I know, Dad! I just can't!"

"You can't? Why not?" He already knew what she would say, but he asked anyways.

"Mike! You two have had this conversation so many times! If it's not going to be resolved like this, then just don't argue about it!"

Bloom's father sighed. "Fine," he muttered, then stood up and walked away. A few seconds later, Bloom heard a door slam shut, then open and close softly again.

Bloom woke up under a bed of flowers. They were a mix of tangerine flowers and marigolds. They seemed to be whispering to each other, and the topic seemed to be her since the leaves often pointed to her. They seemed to reach a decision, and she felt herself being lifted out of the ground into a standing position.

She was surrounded by about a hundred beautiful girls in colorful dresses. A blonde girl with hazel eyes stepped up. She was wearing an orange dress that emphasized her perfect body frame, and on her left ring finger was a sky-blue ring with an orange, sun-shaped gemstone in the center.

"Hi! I'm Stella Sunlight! You look lost! Do you need help? My father's King Radius of Solaria, so he can buy practically anything for me, including a guidebook to the School for Good. It mentions the School for Evil and describes it briefly, but it's mostly about the School for Good. I have an extra copy of it in case someone is lost or confused. Do you want it? If you're a student, there is a blank page, and if you press your schedule to any part of the guidebook, the schedule will automatically copy itself onto that page! There's also a map of the school in case you can't find your way to your next class. Here." Stella shoved the guidebook into Bloom's hands without waiting for a response, "I hope we have at least some classes together. It would be great if we were in the same tower!" Right at that moment, a group of yellow fairies circled around Stella, and she floated up into the air, across a glittering blue lake, and past a sparkling pair of silver gates.

A group of orange fairies circled around Bloom, and she found herself floating up into the air, across the lake, and towards the silver gates. As she got closer, she could see the words "School f" and "Enlightenment an" below a white swan facing right on the left gate. There were also the words "or Good" and "d Enchantment" below a white swan facing left on the right gate. "School for Good Enlightenment and Enchantment." That was the same thing that was written on the cover guidebook Stella had given her, below a crest of two white swans. At the bottom of the cover was a crest of two swans, one white and one black, as well as the letters "SGE" directly below the crest.
