A N I Y A
"How can you dress like this everyday?", Jamaica ask me. I shrug not knowing how to answer.
"I like being girly. I love dresses and shit.", I respond smiling at my reflection. I picked out a burnt orange colored maxi skirt, a white and orange blended shirt and a pair of white MK sandals. School today is gonna be so boring. This is the last day until we can go back since there has been a carbon monoxide scare. So the schools are letting us out for a week and a half to make sure everything is okay.
"I wanna wear something cute like that. My dumb ass just don't know how to try something different.", She explains to me. She really doesn't know how to dress.
"When I get back from school I'll give you a make over. How does that sound?", I ask her. She squeals, then jumps up and hugs me. I grab my purse and walk downstairs. All the boys are sitting around the table talking.
"Hey princess, where you off too?", Grandpa asks me.
"School", I reply hugging him. Tre looks up and shakes his head no
"They cancelled it today. The water tanks busted.", he tells me. I thank god because I really didn't want to go.
"Yay! Now I can go back and give Jamaica her make over. Bye.", I tell them. I blast back upstairs and Jamaica is in the previous spot on my bed. "God is good There ain't no school!"
"Yay!", she jumps up and we do a little dance. Afterwards we stop and I get my makeup out.
"So do you want a natural look?
Or do you want a damn look at lil mama type look?", I ask her. She thinks about it and agrees to going natural for the first time.I get out all the necessary tools and get to work. I like doing Makeup and Hair. It's soothes me and it's something I like to do.
"So who is this Jordan character your parents are talking about.", Jamaica asks me.
"My friend. ", I respond happily. I haven't talked to him in a while.
"Friend? I think you like him.", She says matter of factly. I smile and put the brush down.
"Yeah I do. I just don't know where we stand right now. Sometimes he sends signs like yeah I like you. He's actually shown it many of times but..", I trail off sinking in thought.
"But what?", she asks picking up a eyeshadow palette.
"But he just be so busy and hardly texts me now. How are we gonna be on the same page if he don't text me back.", I explain to her.
She smiles and folds her legs. "Communication is the key to everything. You are totally right how are y'all gonna be on the same page? One thing you should do is be in his perspective. You said he be busy and also a text isn't anything to send out. Maybe you just need to view things from his point of view. ", she tells me
I let that sink in and sigh. I wanna trust Jordan I really do. But how can I really like him if he doesn't call me? Yeah he gave me necklaces and bonded me out of jail, and I love him for that. But us being together is so different than all of that.
"I'm gonna be fine. Let's get back on you sista.", Jamaica smiles and gets back in her position. I finish her makeup and go to pick her out some clothes.
