October 11, 2015Beep beep. Beep beep. Beep beep. Beep-
I shut Gerald up.
"Listen, bud, you know I love you, but I hate the beeping. You get it, right? Good."
Jade, today you leave for Maryland!
Gerald is always so optimistic.I continued on with my daily morning ritual: turn right, go down the hall, pass the living room and get to the kitchen; make my bagel and drink my coffee.
I had planned to leave for Maryland around 12:30 PM. To kill some time, I decided to take the subway down to Hamilton, Eliza, and Angelica's graves. Phillip's grave is at Trinity, but nobody knows for sure where he is buried. Maybe it would be good luck to pay my respects.
In all honestly, I really hope I'm chosen to play a role. My job sucks. I work at a pub, and it's just so dry.
By the time I arrived it was 11:15 AM. I walked over to Hamilton and Eliza's graves. I dropped a penny or two and walked to Angelica's grave.
Once I reached the other graveyard, I noticed somebody standing by Angie's grave. And, they seemed oddly familiar from the side...
"Wow. I'm so stupid." I thought. It was Lin.
Hoping he wouldn't recognize me, I walked up to the grave without saying anything. After a couple of seconds Lin looked up and smiled, like anybody else would do. As I walked away, I heard my name from behind me. Great.
I froze and turned around to Lin; my hands were tied.Lin's POV
I had nothing better to do, so I figured I would pay my respects to the founding-father-without-a-father I had grown to know so well over the past few years. I visited Alex and Eliza, and continued to Angie, in the graveyard on the other side of the church.I sat there, staring.
'These people could be my future if it's received well.' I thought to myself. All I could do was let it happen naturally. It's life.As I looked down at the grave in front of me, I heard footsteps coming from my right. After a few seconds I stopped and looked up, smiling. I did a double-take; they looked so familiar.
As she walked away I looked back up at her.
Oh. It was Jade!"Jade?" I said. She froze and turned around.
