Chapter 10

N's sobbing continued to fill the room, but Mr. Autumn continued...for some reason that I still didn't quite understand.

"Continuing on, let's talk about M, shall we?" Mr. Autumn started. "Joe Ashworth - M - got too involved with a certain serial killer called The Ogre. Now, I doubt anyone needs reminding that this killer hunted the loved ones of anybody who was investigating his case..."

"They put him away years ago," Q whispered to me. "Of course, not before he killed a dozen women beforehand."

"...it was also around this time that his sister's husband died of mysterious circumstances. Do I need to say anymore?" He grinned. "Mr. Ashworth was the root cause of his death! I wonder what his sister would say to that? Shocked, I'm sure."

"S-Stop it...just stop...!" N cried out, barely managing to stand up. "Haven't you done enough?! You've gotten what you wanted, so just go away!"

Mr. Autumn leaned back in the chair he was sitting on. "Sorry, but I'm not even halfway through the opening act. I've got tons of stuff on you lot...for example, how about Q, also known as Sebastian Walker?"

I perked up immediately. Maybe this could finally be the something that finally makes a certain thing become canon! "Oh, do you have a crush on someone, Sir?!" I yelled towards my superior. "That must be what he's talking about!"

"You think I would let something as easy to see as that be said?" Autumn scoffed. "No, I think revealing a certain rookie incident should come to light."

"Don't - don't you dare-!" Q scrambled for his laptop, desperately trying to stop the live feed.

N seemed annoyed at his actions. "So now you're doing something...? If you could have actually stopped Autumn the entire time, why didn't you do it earlier-?"

"That's because he really can't do anything," he said. "Just like how he couldn't do anything to prevent the deaths of eleven people, following a stunt to try and convince Interpol to hire you."

"Huh?!" I glanced towards Q out of doubt. Could that really have happened...? "N, did you know about this?"

"N-No...Jo- M kept this hidden from me," N muttered in a quiet tone. "He told me that Q would be better off with us, in order to avoid him going down a stray path...or something like that."

Autumn was really getting on my nerves now, but he still continued rambling. "It seems Ashworth neglected to mention that he hired someone who might as well be in jail. Maybe Sebastian will think twice about cutting the power grid in a city next time."

"Julia's going to kill me for this...!" Q sunk his head low before continuing. "It really wasn't my fault...it was an accident-!"

"Sir, it's okay! He's just trying to get into your head-!" I tried to reassure him. "Besides, if D even thinks about disliking you for it, I'll do...something!"

He smiled at me, although it seemed a little forced. "Thanks, L."

"This is getting boring..." Autumn yawned before picking up some nearby files. "...I've been saving the best to last, you know. It's about your friend, Julia Kirigiri."

- Felix Griffin's POV -

- ???? ~ Abandoned Mansion -

"Ms. Kirigiri!" I yelled towards her. "He's going to spill the beans on you!"

"I doubt he's got anything good on me, Griffin." Ms. Kirigiri told me, although I wasn't entirely sure about that. If he managed to dig up what Sebastian did, it would be easy to find out a few things about her life...not that she's done anything bad, right?

"So, let's talk about those gloves that she always wears. Time and time again...have you ever seen her take them off?" Autumn smirked directly at the camera. "That's just a little cover up for those filthy scars she has!"

Ms. Kirigiri suddenly slammed the wall, knocking some old pictures off of the wall. "That's far enough!" She yelled out, her tone becoming far angrier than I've ever heard her speak.

"Too bad the guy who got your parents killed decided to go after you too, huh?" He said. "I wonder how anyone could ever like you, with disgusting hands like that."

"How dare you...!" Ms. Kirigiri's face started reddening. "Criminals like you...do you have no shame?!"

"Ms. Kirigiri, please calm down-!" I attempted to calm her.

"Griffin, this is none of your business!" She turned to the window, pulling out her gun. "I'll - I'll kill him myself!"

I quickly tried to grab the gun out of her hands. "No, no wait-"

"Are you two done? I think it's finally time I get started," Autumn's helicopter started to position itself right next to the window we were standing behind. "Duck."

I screamed as the guns on the helicopter started firing, Ms. Kirigiri barely managing to shove me out of the way. It didn't do good for my ears, let me tell you-!

"Julia!" Sebastian was talking again, so I assumed he managed to get the basic communications back up. "Quickly - the fireplace. It's in the next room. There's a passageway through the fake fire, it'll lead you to the outside toolshed."

"Griffin, let's go!" Ms. Kirigiri grabbed my hand, trying to avoid the windows as much as possible. "Q, can you make sure backup gets here as soon as possible? I doubt Autumn intends to go easy on us."

"Yes...yes, of course. Just make sure you get there in one piece." Sebastian remarked. "You still have that pink-haired girl to think about. She needs a home, and I doubt Griffin will do much in that matter."

I rolled my eyes. "Hey! I heard that, Sebastian!" He was always teasing me...it never stopped!

Ms. Kirigiri shoved me into the fireplace, and sure enough, there was a passageway that I managed to fall halfway down.

"Griffin, keep moving!" She kept shoving me through the passageway. "We haven't got much time. Autumn will start searching the house soon."

I whined as we ended up at the (larger than I thought) toolshed. Please say nothing else goes wrong...
