06| Steak & Ubers

Maddie's POV

I finally got off the plane after 4-5 hours of sitting next to the most obnoxious people in the world.

"That was a fun flight am I right?" My mom said excitedly.

"If you say so," I nodded feeling exhausted.

"How about we all go out to eat? I'm sure everyone's hungry, and we can catch up." Jacob's mom suggested.

"Great idea!" Jacob yelled in excitement.

My mom looked at Kenz and I for approval.

"I guess we could go," I shrugged.

"Great, lets head out." My mom said.

We walked out of the airport and called two ubers, one for us and one for Jacob's family. The app said it would be here in about 15 minutes, so we all chatted amongst ourselves as we waited.

"That was the worst five hours of my life." I said to Kenzie and Jacob.

"Hey! Most people would kill to sit by me on a plane." Jacob said.

"I not being one of those people, plus you kept sleep talking, saying something about being a captain of a boat." I said.

"I was dreaming about owning my own yacht called, 'The Sartorius'" He said making a gesture with his hands.

"How lame, what you really need is a private jet." I said back.

"Funny" he said as the ubers pulled up.

The two cars were a white Range Rover and an old black car that was unidentifiable to me.

"I call Range Rover!" I yelled running to the car.

"No I do that's not fair." Jacob pouted.

"You guys can both ride it in if you want." My mom suggested.

"Nope." I said as I gathered my stuff and walked to the black car.

I opened the door to the uber, and sat down. My mom told him where we wanted to go and we started driving. The car filled with the music playing on the radio, which was some type 90's music. I looked out the window as we started passing up the airport. It was filled with busses, taxis, people rushing into cars, and suitcases everywhere. I laid back in my seat and started to close my eyes. I eventually fell into a deep slumber.

"Maddie, wake up we're here," My mom said.

I groaned as I woke up to the sound of my mom's voice. As I opened my eyes I began to realize I was still in the uber. I looked at the driver and he seemed to be waiting for me to get out impatiently. I then grabbed my phone and headed out the car. I was too tired to grab my luggage from the truck so I let Kenzie grab it.

As I walk over to Mackenzie, I hear a familiar guy's voice behind me. I turn around to see Jacob with a super cheesy smile. I'm still stuck with this loser. I thought to myself as i let out a whine.

"What's wrong?" Jacob asked curiously.

"Everything." I answered him as I grabbed my luggage.

"That's too bad," Jacob replied.

We arrived at a Sizzler, which is basically a buffet type of restaurant/a steakhouse. We didn't have a car, so we brought our luggage with us inside, which earned us a couple of stares. We all ordered some steaks and sat down at a table.

"Jacob, Maddie, Kenz-" My mom started to say.

"Why don't you guys sit at your own table and let the adults talk?" My mom suggested.

"Sure I guess," I said as I got up waiting for Jacob and Kenzie.

"How about we sit back there?" Mackenzie said pointing to a table in the back.

"Let's do it." Jacob said.

We sat down at the table, as we all pulled out our phones.

I started to text Kendall, telling her I made it back safely.

Maddie- hey i made it back home.

Kendall- that's great! so where r u now?

Maddie- at sizzler with kenz & jacob

Kendall- Jacob? how did that happen..

Maddie- i dont really know he just showed up on the same plane.

Kendall- that's weird, but how is he? i haven't seen him in a while.

Maddie- annoying and obnoxious as always

Kendall- yikes that's a little harsh.

Maddie- more like an understatement.

Kendall- if you say so

Maddie- so what r u doing?

Kendall- just laying down in my bed, about to take a nap.

Maddie- well get some sleep, i'll call u when i'm home.

Kendall- k

I rolled my eyes playfully as i read her last text. I look up to see a waiter talking to my mom as she points to our table. I'm guessing she's explaining how we moved to a new table.

I see the waiter nod and head our direction with steaming plates of food. I got super happy as I saw him put the food on our table. I thanked him as he walked away, disappearing into the kitchen.

"This looks yummy!" Jacob said excitedly as he played with his silverware.

I got my phone out to take a picture of the food before I ate my food.

"You know you don't have to take a picture of everything you eat." Kenzie told me.

"Well, I want to." I told her.

I looked over to see Jacob devouring his food. I let out a slight chuckle and started to eat mine.

A/N- hey guyssssss, so sorry for not updating (again ik) but i'm trying. and ik this chapter kinda sucked but hopefully i will have a better one up soon.
