A Caged Woman

Free me, she said.

But it wasn't the giant's voice. It sounded like an older woman, speaking from somewhere far away, down a long, echoing pipe.

"Free me, Gabriel, or the earth shall swallow us. It must be by the end of Friday." She spoke.

The room started spinning. Green smoke enveloped me, and I was no longer sure if I was awake or dreaming. The woman seemed to rise from her throne. She leaned over me, with her eyes boring into me. Her mouth opened, her breath like horribly thick perfume. She spoke in the same echoing voice:

"Our enemies stir. The fiery one is only the first. Bow to her will and their king shall rise, dooming us all. FREE ME!"

"who are you?" I asked.

"Find me by the end of Friday and free us. Your dad is with us. The clock is ticking. Fail me and the enemy shall rise. I have faith in you." she said.

"But -- dad --

It was too late. My knees buckled, and everything went black.

I woke up to the knocking of the door.

My eyes wouldn't open, it's too early in the morning. I forced my eyes to open.

Holy crap. My rooms a mess. The window is broken. Someone broke in for something, but nothing is stolen. My lance!

Okay, it's there. But Someone flipped it into a coin.

I opened the door and I see Virgil. He is horribly hurt.

"Oh my God, what happened?" I said.

"It's nothing, only small wounds. It will heal on its own, I'm immortal in any case. But seems like they hit you too, they are chasing us for something. I thought it's your lance," he said.

"It isn't, but they flipped it back which means they know why it's here and how it works."

"Maybe someone is watching us-- " he said.

"I had a -- another vision."

"Giant?" he asked.

"Nope. Weird huh? A woman, a caged woman. But she said dads with him. Which means if I can save dad, I can save her too."

"Hmm, depends. What if she means trouble?" He said.

"She said 'The fiery ones only the first and 'their king shall rise' if I agree to do whatever the giant says. "

"See, trouble. Anyways, let's focus on saving dad. Let's leave this place fast." He said.

"Yeah, but why are you hurt? Did the spirits hurt you?"

"Don't even ask. I fell off the bed by a loud crash and then spirits came in and we had a nice chat. But don't worry my muscles got them." He said winking.

"uh huh, explains the wounds doesn't it?"

"Enough talking, more walking, please. Circle II isn't far off, just down from here. So cloud ride would be enough." He said.

"Hmm, cloud ride? sounds like fun."

"Now who wants fun?" He said raising his eyebrows.

" 'Enough talking more walking please.' "I said imitating him.

"Sure." he said.

We walked past the halls and ran down the stairs out to the gardens.
Someone is watching us and it is not good. But they have answers to some questions that I need.

I took a closer look at the lance. The symbol of the dove. It's a symbol of Aphrodite! But I really don't think I am anyway like anyway related to that. It's crazy to even think of such a possibility. Maybe I read too much of fantasy and Gods, that makes me think like this.
