It's the same dream.I looked at the mirror again. For a moment, my own image stared up at me, but then the reflection changed.
I saw flames and a grotesque face like something carved from bedrock. I heard the same laughter, of someone familiar. Someone who I can relate to. But then, I see my dad in chains, tied to a post in front of a roaring bonfire.
"Come here, Gabriel," a voice called. I am looking around but I find no one.
"Now look at what you have done. It's your fault this happened," the voice repeated.
"Who are you?", I asked trembling.
"What is more important now is how to get your dad out of this cage ", the voice asserted. "Well, if he isn't important, I could just kill him."
"No! Tell me what is it that you want? . . . money?"
"Money doesn't work here my friend. Money is the root of all kinds of evil. I am not evil at all. At least not yet." the voice said.
"Then? What do you need?", I asked.
"All I want is you in this cage and your dad is set free. It's a good deal, you'll see." the voice commanded.
"Well, for that you would need to tell me who you are and where to find you. If it isn't too much to ask for."
The voice then said,
"Follow the stones I have set,
Seek the company of who crosses your way
And you will find me in the darkest place,
dreaded by torture I surround others.
You have witnessed my descent,
Now watch me rise.
Let light be in your heart,
and you will find your way with much support."
"Really, a riddle? And whats up with the descent part?"
"I have given you enough information. Hope you find your path successful. But remember, you have five days to find me. Otherwise, you will find yourself sorry.", the voice asserted.
I took a closer look at dad. It's enclosing him. While the same bars are trapping me, trapping me in a journey I must take. Dad is trapped inside the cage. I need to save him. It's my duty.
The image then faded and I woke up to the voice of someone calling me.
"Wake up, little human! wake up! ", a small man screamed at me.
"Who are you?", I asked at first shocked to see a human then realising it's a stranger.
I should take a closer look at this man. He has smooth and silky black hair and a fair skin tone holding his high cheekbones, long thick lashes and hazel eyes. He is wearing a suit. The suit is blue....sharp-looking, and well-fitted.
"Oh, So you are the human? Commands from the Gods are really stressful, took me days to find you." the man said.
"What are you even talking about? I don't even know you."
"Oh, where are my manners. I am Virgil, a poet by profession and now have been asked by the Gods to guide you to wherever you are supposed to go. Newbies need an introduction to journeys here."
