Clove POV:
I slowly wake up to find out my head is pounding and I have to worst stomach ache. Great, there goes my Saturday.
I look around to notice that I have no clue where I am. I remember being at the party, but Katniss didn't tell me who's house we were at. I pat around for my phone. My phone is missing. My day is just going great!
"Clover." I hear someone whisper. My cheeks immediately burn up. It's Cato.
"What do you want?" I whisper back.
"How are you feeling? You had a lot to drink last night, you know?" He says while moving over to me. He sits right next to me. I move over to separate us.
"I feel like death." I admit. He chuckles in response before getting up and walking to the kitchen. He comes back with a glass of water and two pills.
"Take these and drink the water slowly." He tells me.
"Thanks." I mumble before putting the pills in my mouth and swallowing them.
"Clove?" He asks.
"What?" I snap.
I look over at him to see his hurt expression. I feel bad.
Why do I feel bad? He practically took my heart and stomped on it, as corny as it sounds.
"I really am sorry. I love you so much. It wasn't cool what I did. Out of everything, that was my biggest mistake. Hurting you."
Hard to get. Be hard to get!
"Yeah, you should have thought of that sooner. Have you seen Marvel?" I ask, trying to egg him on. It works. His face instantly gets red and he clenches his jaw.
"He's probably still knocked out." Cato says through clenched teeth.
"He's such a nice guy. I wish you hadn't done that. I was having such a great time with him." I say, smirking.
"Clove." He warns.
"He was a really good kisser too."
"That's it." He says and grabs my waist. He pulls me close so our noses are touching.
"I know you love me. Don't deny it, Clover." My face goes red, again. "You love it when I call you that. Every time you blush. And you're asking yourself why you still love me after all this. Well you know why? You will always forgive your first love." Cato says before crashing his lips to mine.
His lips feel so much better than Marvel's. He moves his lips eagerly against mine. His tongue slides across my bottom lip, asking for entrance. I pull away from him, knowing that I couldn't stop myself if that would have continued any longer.
"See you around, Cato." I say before getting up and walking out of the house.
Cato POV:
This is so damn frustrating. I know she wants me, so why won't she just do it? She's playing hard to get. I just need to find a way for her to trust me again. Trust me enough to let me be her boyfriend once again.
Bzzzz, bzzzz.
Clove's phone is vibrating on the coffee table. She must have forgotten it. I unlock her phone to see a picture of us two making funny faces as her background. I remember this day.
(Flashback)
"Cato, stop!" Clove says in a fit of laughter. I've been tickling her sides for about one minute. I just love hearing her laugh so much. She's so cute. I can't believe I'm falling so hard for her. I feel so bad for what I'm doing, but it's not like I'm faking it. But I am two-timing her with Glimmer. Don't even get me started on her.
She slaps me on the arm, actually pretty hard.
"Ooh, is someone mad?"
"Yes." She pouts.
"Aw, don't be mad at me Clover."
I love the way her face gets red when I call her that. It's probably the cutest thing ever.
"Too late. I'm so mad at you." She says while giving me a death stare.
I lean down and kiss her lips gently.
"Still mad?" I tease.
"Not at all." She smiles.
We spend the rest of the day watching movies on my couch cuddling.
"I don't have a picture with you." I tell her.
"Yeah I guess we don't."
I grab her phone from the table and open up the camera app.
"Say cheese!" I say cheerfully.
I take the picture and send it to my phone.
"I love you." I blurt out. Shit, why'd I admit that so fast.
"I-I love you too." She smiles.
(End flashback)
I just need her to understand that I wasn't lying when I said that. I love her more than anything.
I suppose I'll just have to keep trying. Ugh.
