3 years later
One day I was out playing with my best friend, Ivy, who is a deer. Throughout these three years I have learned how to understand the trees and the fairies but I'm still learning how to communicate back to them. I've also found that I have a special connection with animals. Ivy and I were playing in the woods with the fairies when all of a sudden the fairies disappeared. I was confused as to where they went. I was still learning how to communicate with animals but I said to Ivy curiously  " Why do you think they left and where did they go?"  I heard voices coming near so I hid with Ivy behind a fallen tree. As the voices became nearer I see a tall figure in the distance with a smaller one beside it. When they finally came closer I saw an older man who looks tired with bags under his eyes. He has dirty blonde hair and a lot of hair on his face like I remember my dad having. I sometimes miss my parents but I don't really remember much of them anymore. I look at the little boy. He looks older than me and he appears to be sad. He has blonde hair and bright blue eyes that remind me of the pond where the mermaids live. The older man held a weird object in his hand. It was sharp on one side of the metal with a wooden handle. The little boy had pieces of wood in his hand. Why would he have wood in his hand? Did he hurt one of the trees? I was peering over the log with Ivy and trying not to be seen. The boy and man kept walking past us in silence. I tried to take a step closer to get a better view of the two and I stepped on a twig that snapped. I crouched even lower in fear that I would be seen. The little boy whirled his head around looking in all directions. He starts straying from the other man walking towards the dead tree I was behind. He noticed a small split in the tree and his eyes traveled onto mines. His stare was so innocent but intimidating. I got lost into his baby blue eyes. And he smirked a little at the sight of me standing up slowly for him to see me. The older figure yells in the distance,
"Oakley! Come back I need you to help me carry this wood back to the house!"
He turns frantically in the direction where his father called to him. He looked at me once more before sprinting towards his father in the woods. My heart was fluttering so fast at what had just happened. I felt drawn to him somehow. Once I was sure they were gone, I ran back to Mama Willow and the fairies to tell them about what I had saw. I hoped I would see that boy again. It had been so long since I had seen a human.
